  • Social media outcry as Cadbury confirms the product won't return for Easter. Despite the discontinuation, other Mini Egg sizes remain available in supermarkets.

In a surprising move that has left chocolate enthusiasts reeling, Cadbury has decided to discontinue its 38g Mini Egg Carton, sparking a wave of disappointment and calls for a protest among loyal fans. The decision to axe this particular product ahead of the Easter season has caused quite the stir on X (formerly known as Twitter), where fans have been vocal about their shock and sadness.

Keira Clarke at The Sun, shared insights into the wave of reactions from fans. One exclaimed the urgency to stock up, while others expressed their disbelief and disappointment in more dramatic terms. The news broke early in the month when Cadbury responded to an inquiry on X about the product's availability, confirming the discontinuation and stating, "This product will not be returning." Cadbury explained the decision as part of their effort to listen to fans and adapt their Easter range to reflect changing tastes, assuring that the 2024 lineup is still "egg-cellent."

Although the 38g cartons will no longer grace shelves, Cadbury Mini Eggs will still be available in different sizes and packaging, with the 80g bags being a common alternative. Retailers like Tesco had even offered these bags at a discounted price of £1.20 for Clubcard holders, although stocks have since run out.

I can't remember the last Cadbury product I bought seems many years ago. So expensive nowadays and not as good as they used to be and many of the UK factories have closed and been moved abroad since they were taken over by Kraft.
