The 10 Symptoms You Should Never Ignore

Kids are always picking up bugs and running temperatures. Sometimes it's difficult to tell when a child's condition is serious enough to visit A&E. But here are 10 symptoms to look out for, which should be checked out by a medic.
I knew about all of these as most of them were explained to us by his drs as we had to be so careful. I had to take him to A&E back in October because he had a high temperature that wouldn't go away with paracetamol. He had a chest infection and it had caused a secondary infection and part of the infection was sitting on his lung. He got antibiotics and he was fine but because of his medical history they didn't mess about.
It's always good to know what to look out for. I will admit that when he gets ill I become very over protective and worry about the smallest things so I remind myself of the things to look out for and it calms me down!
Children are fairly resilient but as you say with a previous medical history you do have to be more wary and things can escalate faster than they usually would. A mothers watchful eye is the best for noticing anything unusual. Don't beat yourself up about being over-protective, it is one of your jobs as a mother and he is lucky you are so vigilant.
tumblespots the last time he had a bug my husband reminded me that he had been through so much worse and was fine, if he can handle that, then a bug is no problem! But I know straight away when he isn't his usual self.
