Over 100,000 Argos Customers in Line for Compensation .

Money Saving

Never bother with extended warranties myself (unless they come free from the likes of John Lewis and Richer Sounds) ,I prefer to "self insure" .

It does seem from this article that Argos have been a bit naughty with their selling of these extended warranties so could be of interest to some ?

Oh dear. I have on occasion taken out an extended warranty from Argos, but never been offered a comparable site. Never imagined Argos would do this. Do you think this will effect business knowing the may not be offering cover. Thanks Golfforall.

Don't know as I have never bought an extended warranty from them. Although I remember a couple of years ago every time you bought something (even a £5 clock etc) they always asked you id you wanted the extended warranty .

Surely the emphasis should be on the people purchasing the extended warranty to check it's what they require and check prices elsewhere first if they wish. I've occasionally bought Argos extended warranties ,but never been pressured into buying them , you can always cancel at a later date or go back and buy later if you wish anyway.

Think its a bit like the "packaged bank accounts thing" . More that they didn't sell them correctly rather than they weren't any good . Basically they were very expensive in comparison to similar warranties that could be bought as a "stand alone" product and Argos were required to point that out .

It's like playing a game with these businesses they're always trying to get money off you. ASDA Tesco Argos Currys wherever you shop thinking of ways for you to spend cash

You are right . I remember when the Currys sales staff even got a bonus for selling you one and would knock a few quid of the price if you bought one .

I'm not a fan of Currys anyway. It's a game every time you go out shopping then you get to the till and they say do you want any batteries with that.
