£140 off Your Electric Bill
Money Saving
Every year the energy companies are obliged to help the most vulnerable in society .They run a scheme for people who maybe are disabled or on a low income . There are numerous ways of being eligable and its not necessarily down to your income.Applications open on October 12th 2020 and I'd suggest you contact your supplier to see if they participate with the scheme.
Ecotricity don’t do it unfortunately but they are a really good supplier ! plus you get a £50 lush voucher when you join
We could do with this as my daughter had long showers during lockdown and we owe about £200 now
I assume you’re not eligible if youve got a pay as you go meter? and usually only eligible if you are on universal credit or some form of benefits
No , if your on a prepayment meter they send you a letter , you then go to your post office and they scan the barcode on the letter and load your card or key the £140 . On the eligibility part I'll give you some examples of what can make you eligable . Under 5's in the home, if your classed as being in fuel poverty , you are classed as being in fuel poverty if your paying more than 10% of your earnings on your energy billss. What I would suggest Sarah is contact your energy company and 1st ask do you do the warm home discount ? then if they do go through your circumstances and the worse that happens is your not eligable and the best is you get something which you didn't know about .
stuartsmith544 the warm home discount scheme for gas is only for people on universal credit or claiming other benefits, I’ve looked into it before.. so if it is the same scheme for electric, surely the rules will be the same
SarahBenne67061 In all the years Ive applied for it I havent ever once haad it for my gas and Ive never been on universal credit .
SarahBenne67061 you are eligible if you have pay as go meter but you have to be low income or some kind benefit even tax credits
I’ve never heard of this but I will definitely look into it for my parents! Every little helps Thanks for posting
