20 Books a Year

Ask a Question

I am aiming to read 20 books a year as normally only read about 2 or 3 but love reading.

How many do you normally read?

It all depends on the size of the book and what the subject is but on average about 3 every 2 weeks 🙂

Just had a little count of the books I got for Christmas, which was 17.

I may get a similar amount for my Birthday and I tend to get them all read by the next Christmas.

As I grow older I find I am turning my back on TV in favour of a good book.

Wish I'd got 17 books and not 17 lots of biscuits and chocolates Image

I read a lot but it varies for me. Sometimes I go through phases where I get really into a particular author or genre and just read book after book. Other times, I struggle to find my next book as I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, so can go a little while without starting a new one.

I always have a book on the go but wouldn't describe myself as an avid reader. I probably read a book a month on average. My wife probably reads twice as many. Our house is full of books. For people reading huge amounts do you pass them on, trade or use a kindle?

I get through 2 or 3 a month but only read at bedtime, sometimes going up early to read longer. I use a kindle as books are generally cheaper, can browse at Leisure before buying, download samples and follow favourite authors.

It is easier to use in bed when you need to snuggle down on these cold evenings, you can lie still just using your thumb to click and turn pages rather than all that turning side to side as well as pages!

Even though I own a Kindle and can agree with the points you make I still prefer a physical book. Just need to win the lottery so that I can have a house with a library.

I love reading but don't get much time. How quickly I read also depends on the subject if its fictional I read quicker as dont need to think too much

I read about 2 to 3 a week as I have a kindle, I normally read a couple of hours a day in bed to relax me. I read for escapism, so it's normally fiction

I normally read a lot of non-fiction but I find myself re-reading my favourite books over and over again. They never get old for me. I probably read a book a month.

Typically I'll read two a month. I mostly only read during evening/night. I love getting immersed & lost in a good book. I find reading really helps to reduce stress. Finding that it's particularly helpful at the moment.

I read 100s of books a year, I'm an official book worm. I can't think of anything better than settling down with a book and a hot chocolate

If I find a great author or series then I can shoot through 3 books a week - I'm a fast reader but not good at remembering once I've finished a book so that's the down side. There's a thread on here with some great ideas for books and authors to try. .... also...try borrowing e-books from your library..free and a good way to try authors out.

I haven't read 20 books in my life, let alone thinking about reading 20 in a year.
