3 Things That Fill You with Gratitude.
Ask a Question
I saw this online & thought it could be a good topic to start on here. One of the best ways to turn the mind into a more positive mind set is to focus on the good stuff and think of all the things we have to be grateful for, even if it's a small thing. So take a time out everyday & think of at least 3 things you have to be thankful for.
Today Im grateful for:
- Technology. So I can easily keep in touch with my family / friends & know they still are in good health.
- Having my sons together constantly under one roof & hearing them have discussions as they once used too, even if it is mostly about IT, computers & gaming.
- Laughter! It's good for the soul.
So, What 3 things are you grateful for today?
Having a decent home, food, good neighbours, good health (so far), a loving family, good friends, a job to return to when this is all over, Netflix and Amazon, the current spell of sunshine, and our family WhatsApp group, aptly titled 'Isolation'. Sorry that is more than 3 but in truth I have an awful lot to be grateful for.
I grateful for social media as it is helping our family to stay in touch, my son learning to do new things, having a garden and a nice house, having things to occupy my time, my husband being home so he can spend more time with our son, having good neighbours who we can rely on and our corner shop being well stocked as it means I won't have to brave the supermarkets when we run out of something!
Iv never been so glad of corner shops, Iv just been told that my local Tesco still had a large queue to get in, going around the car park. My local shop is still very well stocked up with essentials thank god.
Glitterandgold ours is the same! It is the only place we have managed to get rice, pasta and toilet roll from! It is a minutes walk from our house too, so really handy! Plus it helps to support local business
MrsCraig That's really handy. Up until 2 months ago when it closed for good we had a corner shop just a few doors away, our nearest now is a street away, but still better than braving supermarkets.
Glitterandgold I can see it from my kitchen window! I would rather walk to the shop a street away than go to Tesco at the moment.
I am thankful to my God i have loving & caring husband lovley kids nice house i dont need anything else
Social media and facetime so we can at least catch up with friends and family, the sun - weve had a lovely day out the garden playing (after ive spent the last 3 days cleaning it) and in thankfull none of my family have essential jobs so they dont have to leave the house.
It's been a lovely day to spend in the garden, So nice to have the sun back isn't it. I think alot of people likely had the same idea as you today, I could hear all the kids over the back from me in the gardens this afternoon.
Glitterandgold Nice sunny weather in Birmingham I am sitting in my garden enjoying weather been shopping already I think my neighbour having rest in side there house I hope you having good day too take care have a lovely day
Ah that's good Sanitation1234.The weather is glorious here in Newcastle too, still lots of people in their gardens. I've spent today cleaning, taking down curtains etc. I hope you have a lovely day & keep enjoying the sunshine
Glitterandgold lucky you living in Newcastle. Its an area, people and accent that I love. Sadly, haven't been there for years now.x
Janhrrs Ah lol. We are a good sort mostly. Im actually from about 8 miles outside Newcastle, I live nearer Tynemouth. Nearer to the coast.
Glitterandgold I do read all jokes and like some of my friends jokes including you but donβt want comment some odd reason i cant tell
Glitterandgold if you tell me you live near Whitley Bay I may never talk to you again. I stayed there once for a few nights 30 odd years ago and have meant to return ever since. Honestly, where does the time go.x
It was nice knowing you then Janhrrs I live very close to Whitley, only 10 mins or so. It has changed alot in the last 30 years, tho we recently had a multi million pound revamp & the Spanish City was restored to former glory but it's all posh restaurants & cafes inside now. The theme park is no longer there, I spent a lot of my weekends during my youth on the Spanish City waltzer & in the amusements. Time does fly. Scarily so!
Glitterandgold I first fell in love with that whole area when I honeymooned near Hexham. Then when I got pregnant with my eldest my ex started to look for work there. In the end he got a job in Middlesbrough and we ended up near Whitby, lol. Now I'm back South again, desperately wanting to move up to Scotland. Just love the landscapes and people from Newcastle up, lol.
Janhrrs Aw Hexham is a gorgeous town. We often venture for a day there when the weathers good. If your ever back in the area I'd recommend a visit to Alnwick, & the beach near by at Alnmouth is very picturesque. Northumberland has a lot of pretty areas actually. Funnily enough our dream is also to move to Scotland, to the highlands at some point. I'd love to live roundabouts Loch Awe. That place has some special memories for us.
Glitterandgold I will definitely be back in the area sometime, so thank you for the reccommendations . I have an obsession with sea glass so want to go to chemical beach desperately. Yes, the Highlands are amazing. We would like to get near the Cairngorms if possible. I hope you get there.x
Glitterandgold me too lol. We actually instructed a solicitor and had found our dream house last year and then guilt about family got the better of me and we didn't go Never mind, it all adds to life's tapestry, lol.x
I can understand that. I really pushed for it a few year ago after I lost my parents & really wanted a change, but OH wasnt ready (guilt too), Now our boys are older I think we'll wait till they have moved out & are settled. Our times will come Janhrrs
Hi, it would be my family (they're Irish so there's a lot of them lol) my beautiful friends, my wonderful colleagues and being able to keep in touch with everyone through facetime etc
I can imagine how big that family is, I have some irish relatives through marriage & can never keep up with all the names . Thank god for facetime eh, iv never used it so much.
Glitterandgold I have trouble remembering their names also I hope you're doing well. I couldn't agree more about facetime, would be lost without it
I'm grateful for my lovely family, my pets and a couple of very good friends. They all bring happiness and support through everything
Good family & friends really are just everything one needs, of course we already knew this but dont you just appreciate them SO much more right now.? I know I certainly do. Btw I dont think anyone is enjoying this isolation right now more than my dog. Hes loving all the extra fussing from us all.
Glitterandgold it is true, it makes you take stock about what's important and what's not. Lol, I think my cats and dogs are up there with yours. They are loving it . It's also nice seeing people getting pleasure from simple things like a walk or cooking. This is definitely a lovely thread you've started.
Having a roof over our head, food in our bellies and in the cupboards/fridge and for our health
