Should There Be a 4 Day Working Week?
Ask a Question
After this lockdown I think people should have the option of working 4 days a week as this period has highlighted that work is not everything.
My husband has been doing a 4 days week for years. He works his full time hours over the four days, it works well for us.
I'd love to, but on a full time. I'm not sure i could spend 2 extra hours a day on the computer. My eyes wouldn't thank me.
I think in some places it not works....Like I am weekend staff, I only work Saturdays and Sundays.
I sometimes work 7 days a week so although 3 days off sounds great, it wouldn't work for all industries. There probably is a correlation between businesses who are finding it easy to have their staff working from home during this time and those who could adjust to offering a four day week. I think any business who offer a product that is not a constant consumer facing service could potentially do it eg. marketing companies.
Freebiesarefun I suppose there's nothing stopping you doing that because people work all week and then do another job at the weekend.
I reckon most industries will reassess the working hours of staff and cut most contracts, perhaps considering job share arrangements
How about working one extra hour a day (4 hours in total) and having Wednesday afternoon off instead?
