50,000 - 100,000 Points

Has anyone else found that you completely lose motivation between 50,000 points and 100,000 points?? I’m a very impatient person, and ever since I reached 50,000, I’ve thought “god it’s gonna take me so long to get to 100,000, I really can’t be bothered” so I’ve kinda been doing the bare minimum... anyone else think there should be another reward at 75,000? Just to break it up a bit and make you feel like you’re closer to the target??
No, I would sooner wait for £50 than claim halfway for £25. I think the rewards are generous and it takes approximately 3 months to reach £50 which is doable at roughly 500 points per day.
I'm a newbie and just got to 5,000 points. Good to know it's not that long to get to the £50 mark.
I'm a long way off from that, i recently achieved the 5000 which felt easy and now trying to get the 15,000 so I can understand it must feel like a mission
I am 97% towards my 100,000. Everyday I add my deals, I like some deals and get involved in the chats. Yes it does take time but where else can sit down with a cup of tea, earn money and not have someone nagging you.
As I am new here and don't want to appear too stupid lol
5,000 points £5 Amazon Voucher
15,000 points £10 Amazon Voucher
50,000 points £35 Amazon Voucher
100,000 points £50 Amazon Voucher
Every extra 50,000 points £50 Amazon Voucher
Does it work
5,000 points £5 Amazon Voucher, then when you reach 15000 they give you £10 then 50000 they give you another £35. After that is it the same or do you need to reach 50000 before another voucher? Sorry to seem stupid.
Thanks for help.
Hey billygomez123
Welcome to LD and certainly not a silly question!
You're completely right but to clarify your last point, after you reach 50,000 points we give out a £50 Amazon voucher for every 50,000 points after that. So you no longer receive smaller vouchers. Hope that makes sense!
I guess you could in theory get to 50,000 points then set up a new account so that you build them up in smaller increments again.
I’ll cash out quicker because it’s Christmas. But once January is here I’ll probably get the motivation to keep going
This is really interesting feedback, thank you. We will discuss this amongst the team and perhaps in the long-term we could look at smaller steps e.g. 25,000 to keep up the motivation! It's also an idea we've been discussing for a while to open it up to other things than Amazon. For example, perhaps you could choose which retailer you get the voucher for...
I think it's natural to have a lull from time to time. So far I've been fairly consistent in posting. I enjoyed searching for competitions and deals before I was aware of this site. When I first signed up to LD I didn't look into the points system and wasn't aware they could be exchanged for vouchers. My motivation for posting was more down to giving something back for taking advantage of the posts from other users.
I understand the point of view it does seem like you’ll never ever reach that goal! However I have to keep in mind that I like finding deals anyway and I’m essentially getting something for doing something I’d be doing anyway which other sites don’t offer. Keep up the bargain hunting! you’ll get there soon
Lol I remember feeling like that, but only temporarily as it‘s a great site to be on to chat, share deals and find deals in general. You will get a second wind at some point and won’t even remember feeling how hard it is
I feel it shouldn't just be about the points (though very welcome ! ) . So much dross is posted just to get the 100 points per post .
Maybe 10 points per post , then 5 points per like and 10 points per comment justifying and amplifying the like ?
Might encourage members to only post really good deals ?
I realise this would disadvantage members like myself who generally post "niche" /unpopular products (ie Golf) but something along these lines is surely the way to refine this site for the better ?
