More than 500000 People Have Recovered

In the News

In the news they seem to focus a lot on how many people have passed away, but it is good to remember that more than 500000 people have recovered from coronavirus. The actual number is of course much higher since the number only includes the recorded numbers.

Both the number of those who have recovered and those who have died from it are only "recorded" numbers. Nobody can provide statistics that are remotely accurate.

All that is known is that without many of the precautions that have been put in place, and hard work by medical staff, is that the death toll would be many times greater.

I think we do not know the long term effect of the virus. We can not say anyone is recovered from it. I read a South Korean article which said that 92 people got infected again or they did not recovered properly.

Also a big percentage of the recovered has reduced lung capacity.

And in the UK we have a 4 times higher death rate than what WHO predicted.

The number will never be exact because China have fudged their numbers. Around 82000 people have been diagnosed in a country of 1.3 billion population?

There's nothing wrong with a bit of positive news amongst all this doom and gloom but it doesn't mask the fact that an alarmingly high percentage of cases have resulted in death and the UK is one of the hardest hit countries. We can't be getting relaxed about it yet.
