80's Music is It Amazing Music or Instantly Forgettable ?
Ask a Question
Is 80's music the era of amazing music or was it the decade that taste forgot ? Was you a fan of Bon Jovi or did NKOTB do something for you?
My 11 year old son loves the Top Gun soundtrack but then my 16 year old has said actually begged to stop the torture of 80's music .
Who was your favourite band or singer ?
Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" was definitely my favorite from Top Gun, and the instrumental version sounds even better although I've never found the genuine one.
Just the vocal version.
As for my favorite singer... The Man in Black: Johnny Cash.
These two are fantastic for new listeners:
I tend to disregard Modern Country because it's more like pop music and about how pretty one looks, but there are a few gems.
Ah, there's also a Portuguese Country singer so gotta give props to him for trying a genre barely anyone likes in his country or nearly outside the U.S. I do love it, yeah, thing is this is a dying genre, sadly.
Yup. Although, if JC covered a song.. it became his own in its own way because it was so unique. TheChimp
I also prefer the music in the 90s more, although when’re I go for karaoke, the 80s songs are a must
80's music is amazing. When you have The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, The Lords of the New Church, Joy Division and cheesy pop.
When it comes to memorable music, the 80s is what comes to mind. The 80s literally made pop music what it is today, and not just sonically.
80s music brings back a lot of great memories for me 90s maybe better but don't have as much emotional connection with it
Here's a Modern Country tune I left out:
Goes perfectly with "As She's Walking Away". This isn't at the level of Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Tanya Tucker or Shania Twain, but it's beautiful, nevertheless.
