We all think we are clean but life is hectic and things don't always go to plan. I thought this was very interesting reading.
None of this surprises me. I regularly clean my sons car seat, our floors get done every day and our son is never in our kitchen.
At the same time, kids need to be exposed to a certain amount of germs to help build their immune system.
You are right, without exposure they don't build up immunity, I am glad to know that in your house you have brilliant hygiene practices 
tumblespots we had to be so careful about infection risk when he was younger so cleaning is a daily occurrence in our house. Plus we have a dog, so that helps with his immune system too.

I live in a hard water area and I have just used the citric acid on my shower head which had clogged holes and terrible limescale. I let it soak in a bowl of citric acid and hot water for 10 minutes and it is now shiny and good as new with the water coming out straight instead of shooting to the sides! No elbow grease required!

Anywhere that I can pick up tips is very welcome, I have bookmarked this so that I can refer to it in the future. Many thanks for sharing the information. I already have some of the products used particularly vinegar which I use regularly anyway - when I do Mr Tumblespots always fancies fish & chips! I keep a supply of Bicarb of soda too as I use it to clean my eyes - recommended by the eye hospital, for my condition, years ago.
tumblespots Wow, that is interesting, I would not have thought of putting anything like that near my eyes. I wake up most mornings with bloodshot, sticky eyes that hurt to open but are fine the rest of the day. Will ask my optician at next visit if it is ok for me too.
I often use a multi antibacterial wipe on the phone then clean all the door handles and light switches if I remember.
After reading tumblespots post I am going to give my tablet a wipe with one, especially as I let the kids I work with use it regularly and it hasn't had a clean since I've had. No, honestly, I am not a dirty woman lol, I just don't think of things like that. Will do the things you mention too.
This doesn't surprise me at all! A little bit of dirt is good for you though so I'm not OTT just the occasional wipe down with anti bac wipe.

I believe this too. It is another area where people think a quick wipe with a sponge, or even just their hand, will do. I think that is why they brought out different coloured boards for different uses - to avoid cross contamination. There is no substitute for a good wash in hot soapy water and I use a washing up brush which then goes in the dishwasher (I have more than one brush on the go at any given time).
