How Do Add Mobile Phone Number in My Account?

Whenever I try to share something on WhatsApp it says your number is not registered. But it doesn't give me an option to add number.

I still cant figured out how to take someone. I am old school people

There is a way to verify your number in the settings but its probably easier to delete the whatsapp application and then redownload. Then you can register your number.

Oh really? How comes? It still shows the option of WhatsApp though. If we cant add WhatsApp why icon is there in sharing options?
