Any Advice on Microwaving Popcorn ..... Please?
Ask a Question
Yesterday I ordered the LEKUE popcorn maker at £6.75 ...from an LD deal .... it arrived (Now even less on Amazon!) .... I've had my first attempt and tbh it was ok...I'll definitely be keeping it. My microwave is a 900w and I'm really worried about cooking it too hot especially with sugar or syrup added, so i tried it on medium but a lot of the corn didn't pop despite me keep extending the time. I'd really really appreciate any tips for microwaving popcorn ....and also, good flavours to add!
Why not just do it on the cooker? Only takes a couple of minutes.
A little oil on a high heat and a handful of popcorn will give you a bowlful. Just keep on shaking the pan.
I made some last night. We went for salty as opposed to sweet.
Yeah cook it in a pan
Actually when I cooked it in a pan there was still a lot of ones that hadn’t popped. May be it was the quality of the popcorn ?
rossruby1977 Might well be the quality. I hardly had any unpopped kernels when I made a big saucepan full.
| saw that deal and was seriously tempted. Then I thought about the edge of the seat moment when you think all the popcorn has been popped - all quiet on the hob front - then you lift the lid! Wouldn't want to forfeit those moments.
sunny101 love the gif! I have yet to try the butter ...I'm trying to be 'good' and only recently realised that popcorn can be pretty healthyish - depending on what's added. Last night's was better but we still had unpopped kernels and there wasn't enough oompf in the flavour. It's flippin' addictive tho...this morning we were both nibbling at the bowl of (soft) leftovers!
