I had awful back pain, turned out to be SPD. I had physio and exercises to do at home. I also bought a promedics back support belt (the one with 3 velcro belts attached) which was a godsend on days when it was bad. Also slept with a pillow between my knees, one under my bump and two behind my back (with a hot water bottle on my back if it was bad). There's loads of advice if you google SPD or pelvic girdle pain.

This is the belt I had but I got it for less than £10 from ebay.

You're welcome, I hope that helps your daughter, it's horrible being pregnant and in pain. Her midwife or Gp can refer her to a Physiotherapist. My back pain went a couple of weeks after birth luckily. I was also told to climb stairs one by one, takes ages but it does help. Sit down to get dressed, never stand on one leg. And avoid walking on uneven ground. Also to never sit or walk for too long, switch between the two every half hour to stop everything from ceasing up.

Try a pregnancy pillow as it will support her bump and her back and will distribute the weight evenly, so will hopefully ease her back pain. A support belt might also help. Don't sit for long periods of time (not always possible I know), and do gentle exercises. Outside of that she needs to go see a GP or speak to her midwife as they will be able to figure out the best way to treat it.

KazLou No problem! My pregnancy pillow has really helped me sleep at night. Hope she finds something to help her back pain.
