Are You Allergic to Milk, Eggs or Peanuts?

Ask a Question

Did you know that in the UK, the top 3 foods that most commonly cause an allergic reaction are: Milk, Eggs & Peanuts?

Does anyone have these or any other allergies?

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to shop and even more so, to eat out with these allergies.

I am not allergic to any of those you listed but am allergic to garlic. It is unbelievable how many foods, sauces, ready meals contain garlic. So can appreciate how difficult it is for those who have any food allergy. Thank goodness I am not allergic to wine 😉

Yes I am allergic to, milk, chocolate, spicy food. I Am all right with cream, cheese, and eggs. The milk started when I was a baby. So it's been my whole of my life. I now use milk free cant thing of the name. That's way I make all my meal now. Brought meal the other day just for quickness and I did not read what was in it. And it was milk made me very poorly for 48 hours never again. 🎆

nicolajaynehend oh no! Hope you are feeling better now. Are you ok with dark chocolate with high cocoa content? Hopefully there are suitable alternatives for you.

No, but it does seem like allergies are becoming more common. Lots of people in other parts of the world are lactose intolerant, so I’m not surprised

hspexy I agree it is becoming more common. More than likely the change in the environment will be playing some part in that!

SAdeals it’s probably also due to changes in how food is made, more processed foods that we can’t process well

I'm pretty sure I'm not allergic to peanuts as I go through whole 200g bags in one sitting. You often hear of 'nut allergy' when referring to peanuts but the peanut is a 'pea' that resembles a nut not a nut that resembles a pea. It's part of the legume family of plants with beans and other peas etc. Why don't they call it a pea allergy?

I am not allergic to any foods. But I do suffer from urticaria and it took a long time for me to get diagnosed as such.

SAdeals Onions isn’t as common of an allergy as the others, but I’ve known a few people allergic to them. I love bread so much that if I was allergic to wheat it’d be more of an issue to me than giving up anything so far!

Luckily I dont have allergies but I remember my son went to school with someone with a peanut allergy and the parents used to bring "Safe" food to Birthday parties to avoid any cross contamination

beccatavender I heard something similar. My niece took a tub of celebrations chocolates to school to share on her birthday. The teacher removed all the ones with nuts before sharing them out.

I think everyone has to be so careful, I think if you haven't got a child with allergies and the stress the parents must feel SAdeals
