Amazon to Launch Department Stores?
In the News
Rumours are Amazon might launch department stores like TK Maxx.
Would you go? Here’s everything we know so far:
To be honest the attraction of Amazon is that you don't need to physically shop.I no longer drive so it's convenient. Plus great to send gifts directly to family and friends as I'm prime member.
beccatavender ...my thoughts exactly .... I don't enjoy shopping-regardless of COVID .... too much else I'd far rather do-so I use Amazon etc to online and am sure I save a fortune by being able to think, compare and get best deals...or even change my mind and simply not buy!
these rumours keep popping up but never seem to happen. It might work in a few big cities but cant see it rolling out that much if at all. There were rumours they were thinking of taking over Morrisons not that long ago which would make a bit more sense but that does not appear to be happening either. Either way, I'll stick to online shopping
Even if they do open these stores there won't be one anywhere near us. I shop online because it is more convenient but would probably pop in just to have a look
There are currently some large empty stores on Oxford Street if they want to come the UK. It could also be another place to collect online orders. The stores may incorporate a space for talks, product demonstrations, courses and other events. This is something a number of larger brands, such as Apple, Nike, Microsoft and Samsung have done.
I'm sure there are empty shops in every town you could mention so there is plenty of opportunity for them although, as has already been mentioned, they won't be anywhere near me out in the sticks!
Yes please, hope they open one locally, not just in London and Manchester as many of us don’t go there very often, and if I do, I won’t be going to an Amazon store.
