Amazon "Minimum Order Quantity" is Becoming a Thing?

Hey all, hope you're having a fun weekend!
I'm just here to ask if anyone else keeps hitting the "Minimum order quantity 2" when they try to purchase items on Amazon.
For example this PC keyboard.. www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Wired-Keyboard-600-Layout/dp/B001QSZ8IE?th=1
the white version says you HAVE to buy 2 in order to put it in your basket.
Who needs 2 keyboards unless you're an octopus!
last week I wanted to buy a water bottle, nope.. I had to buy 2! I remember other items in the past I was looking at you also had to buy 2 items... I understand bulk items.. but it seems to be a growing thing now, having to buy more than you need..
I contacted Amazon (who was the seller) about this, but they were really no help, said its beyond there control sorry.
Is anyone else coming across this?
It's really annoying, I choose not to purchase products sold like this as I don't like the sale style. I haven't been impressed with amazon lately, we had weeks without orders being delivered.

This system is absurd. Just let people order as they need, not as Amazon wants.
I guess its because they don't deem it worth sending 1 item out due to cost. They can pretend their selling an item for lets say £5 whereas a competitor maybe £6 but of course that competitor will sell one item. As ever look at what the competition is offering. Many people don't do this because they have a prime subscription that includes free delivery and so they don't look elsewhere. I see a lot of food items that are minimum quantity but its getting a bit ridiculous if its on items like keyboards and kettles. I've done prime trials but have never subscribed and paid. These sort of subscriptions all add up. £8 a month is £112 a year getting on £600 over 5 years. I got bored of all the prime television within a month of the trial and by the next time another trial is available there will probably be enough content to watch for that month. I don't find it that difficult to get to £20 for free delivery and often I find the cheapest seller is away from amazon or a marketplace seller which offers their own free delivery anyway. I've known people who are paying for a tv license, netflix and prime and the combined cost is quite a chunk of money per month and some of these people have credit card debt etc so are paying interest too on that debt. If you can save £50 a month that is £600 a year to use elsewhere.
Two keyboards? What the heck.
I can understand that for food, snacks, and drinks, but keyboards? 
Iv not Noticed this and we use Amazon for almost everything. Hence why the rewards from LD help.
Saying it is beyond their control sounds like a cop out from Amazon. Of course it is under their control if they are selling the item(s). For whatever reason they have made the decision.
I have noticed this and it has stopped me purchasing certain items, I think with t increased transport costs they are trying to claw back some £ - which considering how much £ they get and how little tax they pay is a bit of a cheek.
I do not mind it on the sensible items like groceries as I normally order ten if it is good deal. The listing for stock they don’t have are more frustrating to me, I have had three orders cancelled last month as they don’t have the stock.

And... The minimum order limit is there too. Three. 
There's a saving to be had via S&S, but it's improbable to need three or more for so long.

Anyway, I bought one via S&S and it was well worth it, it really removes stains from carpets (I was skeptical if it really worked).
PhilipMarc Yikes! to the £24.99 delivery cost. That's interesting it says Free Delivery on the product page, so that's not correct then. Shame!
I really wish LD staff would take some sort of action because Amazon is going crazy with this new system.

PhilipMarc I agree, Its getting like Costco. They are not making it very clear either, you think you've found a bargain or a good gift for someone.. only to find out you cant get it when you click add to basket.
Its pretty shady to me.
PhilipMarc £3.99 for 200g of confectionary with a huge amount of wasteful stylised packaging and likely additives because its highly processed and shaped. You can get a 200g bar of fruit and nut type chocolate that tastes far nicer for about 80p in various supermarkets under their own brands. £20 for 1kg of confectionary compared to £4. I guess its like perfume though where the product itself is very low cost to manufacture but its about being a premium product. £20 would get a whole load of high quality confectionary i.e. made from organic ingredients. If someone sold potatoes in glitter wrap would you pay £1 a potato?
I really dislike products like Ferraro Rocher very bad for the environment and includes ingredients like whey powder and industrialised concentrated butter. Why does chocolate need a protein supplement often used by body builders?

It’s definitely become a thing and it’s quite annoying. There’s a lot of things I’m happy to get more of, but I don’t like being forced to do so
Yes I've noticed this too and some sellers are now charging delivery fee but on the main page it says it's free delivery

Feels something weird is going on with Amazon and Marketplace sellers demanding what they want. Nah, no thanks, Amazon.
just goes to remind people to be very careful! Shame it has to be that way though. Not Amazon related but was trying to order photo canvas on another site - thought I was getting a good price until the last stage when they added £11.95 delivery - no thank you!
Can anyone help me please I've paid to have Amazon delivery to a pickup post office and it's saying out for delivery will be here before 10pm but the post office closes at 6pm and I'm not sure what to do
Leannexxx I've placed orders to pick up at my local post office. When it says out for delivery and will be there before 10 pm, A local Amazon depot drops off your parcel at the post office. I think you can track it on your mobile. My post office is in a local Co-op and I can collect my parcel if it has been left there near a till. Hope this helps.
Yes, I just fell for it, saying free delivery then upon checkout ridiculous postage charges 
I use Amazon a lot but I have never noticed this. Ordered something the other day and it didn't have a minimum amount. Wonder why you have to buy 2 of some items.
I've noticed it too on masks. There was a great deal on a pack of 50 disposable, but when I went to purchase it said I had to buy 3 packs, so I ended up getting a washable one.
I've never noticed this and my family use amazon all the time need to keep an eye on this just incase I accidentally order 2 of something I don't really want

Yeah ive noticed it a few times, i get food and drink items but a keyboard thats ludicrous, no ones going to go oh go on ill get two
I've been finding the same thing on house hold bits like window cleaner had to put 4 in my basket before they deliver and that's of my parcel arrives

it makes sense with some items like chocolate bars, but not keyboards or items where you dont need more than one

I just found a great deal on Amazon for Johnstons Cotton Buds, 42p each with a minimum of 2, but they want £25 for delivery, somebody needs a kick on the stones.
ch7leach If I were you, I'd check to make sure you have been refunded as it was a seller dispatched item, which usually means you are charged at the check-out and the seller gets paid straight away, Amazon fulfilled items are sent via Amazon and they only take payment for the item when Amazon dispatches them.

I have come across it more and more, it's usually food items, so I assumed it was due to increase transport costs. It does make you think twice about buying.
I have tried putting 1 item into my shopping basket and it doesn't work. It has to be 2 items, eg 2 doorbells, 2 gloves, 2 writing paper, I could go on. I just cancel them all instead.
jam45 I've ordered two doorbells after buying one and being happy with it, but this was by choice than trying to force customers to buy because Amazon says so.
