doesn't always work, i purchased a scooter that dropped and they wouldn't refund the difference. I ended up buying again and returning.

This happened to me too. It was a mattress as well so must have cost them a significant amount to pick up and redeliver. Don't know why they didn't just refund the difference

They used to do it without prompting.

Nowadays I think you have to ask via email or chat.

I never knew about this at all. Thanks for posting. I'll remember this as amazon prices go up and down like a yo-yo. I've got my eye on a box set there just waiting for my next amazon voucher and I'll order it but with it coming closer to xmas, I bet they put the price up.

Just tried to do this as I purchased a boppi lama toy which the next day was £5 cheaper. Amazon flatly refused to refund me said it was against their policy.
