Anyone Got Any Cheap Holiday Tips?

Money Saving

I’ve always been quite savvy with not paying over the odds for holidays, looking if it’s cheaper to book hotel and flights separate or together, using different sites to compare hotel and flight prices.

I‘ve found holiday pirates and lastminute.com are both good for cheap package deals.

Anyone know of any other good sites or have any tips?

Iv found it’s cheaper to book a package. On jet2 and easy jet it’s cheaper to book the whole package than the flight on its own.

I’ve looked at jet2 before and they seem to have some good deals, they only go from certain airports though and the nearest one to me is about 2.5 hours away unfortunately. Would still consider it though as worth going a bit further for the airport is the price is good.

Thank you I'll check those out! I know there are a lot of sites out there I've never even heard of or thought about so always interested to hear what other people use to find holidays! Thanks again 🙂

Whoever you find the cheapest price with have a look if you can find a discount code anywhere. Even 10% is saving you something.

Ooh yeah that's a good tip! I booked a holiday once and then realised I could've got 10% cashback, was gutted as that would've been about £30!

With the amount of holiday companies that have gone bust in the last decade or so, I stopped looking for cheap deals and started building my own holiday packages, i believe it's a safer way to travel (not going to be left because company is bust) and in some cases has saved me money

Hate to say it but HUKD have some good deals on - Ibiza one night at the mo £16 fly out Friday 8pm clubbing from 11pm till 8am then back on the plane on Saturday 8pm home sounds magic i may be old but still would do it if the girlfriend was into it but sadly she doesnt like my techno trance and hard house more into Skorpion and Slovak folk music - what a downer eh!

I hadn't thought of that, luckily I've never been caught up in these sorts of things but it's awful for those that have. I always get travel insurance and I think they cover this though?

Depends how good your travel insurance is. If you arrive to find your hotel isn't paid for because travel company has gone bust, they may not be able to help you immediately only refund you after the event, thus the reason the government has to often step in to get people home. My logic is, what's the odds of my air carrier, connection transport and hotel all going bust separately but at the same time

Oh I see! Yeah it's something that could happen but I don't think it would put me off booking a package holiday, chances of it happening are small, something to think about though

lornaae when a company as big as Thomas Cook goes bust, it becomes a real possibility for everyone
