Has Anyone Else Heard of Smile Amazon?

Ask a Question

I recently heard about this and can’t believe it’s not more widely advertised.. for every purchase made through Smile Amazon, they donate 0.5% of the cost to your chosen charity... mine is the SSPCA - it lets you keep track of how much they’ve donated too.. you just have to make sure you start on the smileamazon website before making the purchase. I always buy a lot from Amazon every month, so I think it’s great! Image

amazon should also be donating money to charity too. in 2019 they made a profit of 12 billion which is alot of money

They always ask me money when I am going to pay my orders. I never do, though.

SSPCA?

What about the poor Welsh woofers and mew cats?

Is wales not covered by the RSPCA? 🤔 it’s my understanding that the RSPCA gets a lot more funding than the SSPCA...

You just go to the website (smile.amazon) and choose a charity, buy whatever you want to as normal, then they donate 0.5% to your chosen charity 😊 you literally don’t have to do anything other than shop as normal but always start from that website, not amazons normal website

sarahgreen15 it should also just sign you into your amazon account as normal if you have your sign in details saved on your device so it really is super easy and quick to support a good cause!

We have been using it for years. Our charity is a local childrens one that helped our son when he was ill. I think it is great.

Yes I chose a charity ages ago but wish we could choose a local one rather than the fat cat charities. I did ask but was told it’s not available so please ask and if enough of us request it maybe they will implement it.

Just a heads up I've always been careful to shop through Amazon Smile but didn't think you could do this in the app - for anyone who also didn't realise how to do this this is how!

"Open the app and find 'Settings' in the main menu (☰). Tap on ‘AmazonSmile’ and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone."

Yeah it’s a great idea 💡

Your shopping anyway so help your fav charity at the same time ... win win 🙃

I heard and they do not have my favorite charity. Maybe because they do not care about the environment much, when it is about packaging?

Any charity can apply to be included in the choice of charities that you can choose to support via your purchases, you should let your favourite charity know if they can't be found.

Not possible to link directly to the application form but this might help. https://fundraising.co.uk/2018/02/01/amazonsmile-can-now-benefit-uk-charity/

I agree it should be advertised more, I have been using it for a while.

They can certainly afford to help.

i like the fact that there is so many local charities and I feel the little can many help.

its nice seeing what you have contribute.

if you know a charity you want to help get them to sign up
