Anyone Else Work for a Foreign Company?

My boss is in the states and there is a big time difference, he doesn't start until 2pm our time. This means I have to wake him up should I have any issues when I get in at 7.30am. Who else works for a foreign company with your boss abroad? We're a small team of 4 in the UK for a global team of 30 and it was decided a boss wasn't needed in the UK because of this but there are plenty of managers for other teams in the office though.
