Anyone Going Abroad?

Ask a Question

My son was booked to go this weekend but he did not want to travel. Is anyone still going because they had booked before lockdown or are you booking after lockdown?

My holiday had to be cancelled as it was in May, during Lockdown. Gutted. I was meant to be meeting my friends from Curacao for a Spanish road trip. It will have to wait.

We have had a refund from one of our hotels in Spain, and EasyJet who have been very good I have to say. However, I have the travel insurance covering the other expenses. I will probably lose about £200 in the end, but there is not much I can do about that. Fair to say, not every hotel in Spain has been very polite in returning our money. Pure theft, but not much I can do.

Xx

I haven't anything planned and not sure I want to yet. My boss flew to Spain at the weekend. There were about 10 of them for her 60th birthday. She's staying in a villa with hubby and daughter but her friends are in a nearby hotel. Think there was a bit of peer pressure as her husband didn't want to go and she was unsure and nervous. The lack of quarantine on return seems to be the bit that swayed her to go in the end.

I'm hoping to go away in October. Been booked since last November and hoping that it goes ahead. If not, keep on saving and have a longer holiday in 2021 or 2022

I'm hoping to visit Norway just before Christmas.

That will depend on it being completely safe to do so though.

We had booked to go away over Easter but it was cancelled, still trying to get the money back ! I won't even look at going abroad until at least summer next year

We were due to go away this October and have managed to postpone by a year. Literally changed from 2020 to 2021, absolutely great especially with no huge cost involve just £16.

My mom and Dads Paphos holiday in June was cancelled and they are booked to go September time also but not sure if they will be going now. I would have thought they will delay until next year! I would love to go away but will wait until next year sometime and probably just go on a UK break with our dogs.

Before I booked I noticed the big problem in Italy and didn't want to risk the trip I'd been planning to France

I’m not going to book until things are much safer, personally don’t feel that it’s worth the risk both in terms of health (which is most important) and, secondly, possible financial loss (I know many people who had to cancel holidays but couldn’t get the money back so same could happen if it’s not safe to travel)

I'm still debating it - i like to live for now who knows if ill have a job next year and be able to aford it. I do put a small anount away for a rainy day. I don't think some destinations are any riskier than here its just the flight that puts me off.
