Anyone Here is Gonna Watch the World Cup 2018?

Other

Can't say I will since football isn't something I find entertaining to watch (play? wouldn't say no to!) but listening to the anthems and standing up, and all that. Sure, why not.

Decided I'll be watching it at least for my country, even if footie on TV isn't something i enjoy I'll respect that since it's one of the traditions my people hold.

Now, I dunno about the official theme song of World Cup 2018 because in my opinion it pales in comparison with Wavin' Flag (K'naan), Como Uma Força (Nelly Furtado) and Waka Waka (Shakira), the songs of Euro/World Cups. It's just so generic and uninspired when taken into account the others held true value to event's theme song and those are still memorable to this very day.

Would have preferred Wavin' Flag considering it wasn't the official song for the World Cup of 2010 (that was Waka Waka by Shakira).

Oh well. We'll always have each country's national anthem which matters the most.

I'm guessing England is gonna lose really early. lol

I like to watch the world cup abroad something extra special about watching it with foreigners - I will be in Meteora visiting the James Bond Monastery no beaches for me I am always venturing into the ancient relics and learning new stuff , cant wait to sample Greek food and learn a bit of the language - Yip I am not a typical British tourist then its off to Jordan to see the walled city of Petra.

I am doing my bucket list before i pop my clogs lol

Good for you. Visiting historic sites is always an excellent idea because someday they may not exist anymore. There's been a case of a church in France that was demolished to be replaced with a parking lot or a mall.

We're going to have such fun in our lifetimes, oh boy! Our grandparents and parents won't be here to see that.

Guess soccer/footie isn't something that SA is too keen on but dear god, not even one goal? Just one? That's a pity.

I think football is overrated.

Football/NFL/NBA/NHL/Baseball/Cricket are all sports kinda overrated but each one had its own values. Watching it for one's country and hear the national anthem.

The national anthem and its flag are two of the things I most cherish as I love em.

Watched a few of the matches and the level of skill so far has been fantastic. I enjoy my football but I have to be interested in the teams playing to actually watch the match.

England had a great match in my opinion and I totally loved the clothes that the manager wore.

One thing that confused me at first was that I thought it was England vs Turkey because the Tunisian and Turkish flags look so similar.

The same can be said for the Italian and Mexican flags. lol

Portugal's match is today at 13:00. I'd say they're gonna win without a doubt.

Damn, the Morrocan team plays really dirty and violent by physically attacking the Portuguese players. One was even deeply scratched on his stomach and others were kicked or so.

I guess they think they're playing American Football.

The Portugal vs Iran match was pure quality football! Both sides played beautifully but in the end, Portugal won like it was meant to (well, it was a tie but whatever).

I find it strange that Queiroz is the manager of the Iranian team, because Queiroz is Portuguese himself and he was obviously wanting his team (Iran) to win. Goes to show you just can't have dual loyality.

Aw, I usually don't get emotional and upset over football but I was really disappointed and saddened Croatia didn't win. I even thought of betting on France after seeing the score 4-2 but I couldn't do that, it'd have been disrespectful.

Croats are great people and the Croatian team relied on their native players than use foreigners to represent their national team. That is, after all, the point to show the potential a people's country have and Croatia played as good as they could.
