Can Anyone Help with This Eye Problem

For a few months now I have had weepy, teary eyes, tears actually rolling down my cheeks and forever wiping them. I have regular diabetic eye checks and was at the optician a few weeks ago. He said clean morning and bedtime with cool boiled water and sold me a heat pad thing. Not much change, except the grittiness from the corners of my eyes have eased.
Does anyone suffer this or have any alternative cures?
I can't wear make up anymore as I have panda eyes within half an hour!
Sounds like you have a blocked tear ducts have you tried warm tea bag on your eye few times a day
I really think you should see your practice nurse. These nurses can now write a prescription if necessary.
Maybe give your doctor a ring and ask to see the nurse or ask a pharmacist, they might be able to give you some eye drops to help.
May not be the same thing but a while ago I had a very watery eye, went on for weeks so mentioned it to the Doctor who said I had what was called "dirty eye", he told me to bath it several times a day in diluted baby shampoo, it actually worked for me.
does this happen more in the winter than in the summer? Do you suffer allergies? You can try getting a cooling eye mask to help, and eye cleaners may ease any irritation
A few things not mentioned so far are the possibilities that it is eyestrain often caused by computer use or television, or some allergy, it can also sometimes be the aftermath of cataract surgery - I'm not sure for how long after though.

Thank you EVERYONE for your words of advice. I am using some sort of screen nearly every waking hour when I am not working David. I am on LD on my tablet, watch tv constantly and read my kindle before sleeping. I shall make a concerted effort to cut down.
I had cataract surgery 15 years ago so doubt that as the cause in this case.
hspexy this has started during this Winter and come to think of it my job involves climbing in and out of cars/mini bus all day. So, in and out of a warm vehicle and then battling wind and rain struggling to carry babies and bags in and out of wherever we are taking them! That is not a whinge as lots of folk suffer far more working outside but I am no spring chicken lol!

Ann is right sound similar to a blocked duct.
Try tea bags and warm compresses regularly. Hopefully that will budge it
Yes I must use the eye pad thing the optician got me to buy for £7.99 lol. Apparently you warm it in the microwave but must say I have been a bit reticent to use it, tea bags also sound good, thanks for the tip.
I had this Lynibis, and the gritty feeling. Like you, I was told to get the heated eye mask and eye wipes. I have dry eyes, like others have suggested. Eye drops for dry eyes help, even though it seems strange that your eyes can be dry when they are producing so much fluid! Hope it clears up.
I spoke to my Daughter in Law last night and she has same thing. She explained that dry eye does not mean your eyes are dry but running because they are over compensating! So, yes, it now makes sense and I will ask pharmacist for dry eye drops, thanks for your input.
If it bothers you I would suggest you seek proper professional help from your doctor practice nurse or maybe a second opinion from a different optician .
Have seen 2 opticians at 2 appointments and also diabetic eye tests where they take pic of back of eye. They reckon no problem. I will try all the tips given and see how it goes. Thanks.
I suffered with above for ages and did virtually all of above, including going back and forth to eye casualty which was a total waste of time.
Get a clear eye makup jar see link below if you don't know what I mean. They sell it for like 50p-£1 in primark. Put a good sprinkling of Salt in the container and fill with luke warm water, close the lid and shake. Tilt your head back and put this solution in your eyes for like 10-20 seconds with your eyes open. Repeat on other eye.
If your eye can't handle it you've put too much salt or water is too hot, adjust accordingly. Some people use Himalyan salt but I just found that too strong!

You are quite right, salt solution is good for eye infections. I will still give it a go with a mild solution as it can certainly do no harm. Thanks so much for taking the trouble to help.
