Has Anyone Had Implants in Turkey
Ask a Question
Thinking of having teeth implants in Turkey and was wondering if anyone has had theirs done abroad Thanks.
My little brother paid around £6,000 for his teeth after someone he knew had their's done. Everything was included including the hotel where he stayed & transport..
I haven't personally had any work done but I did read into it a few years ago, there is the odd horror story but I think on the whole it's all done professionally. Make sure you do thorough research beforehand and get good reviews and things of that nature. I can see why you would go over there, it is so much cheaper than in the UK, I think sometimes even five times less money which is crazy.
My partner’s sister plans to get some implants next time she’s out there - she had a crown replaced last year & was happy with the results, so she will return to do more (was cheap & impressed with the after care)
My friends daughter recently had dental work done in Turkey and is very happy with her new teeth, but after some of the horror stories I've heard, I'm not sure if I would be brave enough.
This year, I paid £1,500 for a premolar that needed a root canal and rebuilding in this country, so I know that I wouldn't be able to afford to have lots of teeth improved in the UK.
My brother flew out to Turkey on the 2nd of September to have implants. He had all his removed and then told him his gums were not strong enough for the implants and he would have to go back in six months. So he has no teeth for now. He didn’t come home but flew to Bulgaria. But missed his flight. He said the airport was too busy and he couldn’t check in. My brother has a tendency to make up stories. The next day he flew from Istanbul instead of Antalya to Burgas in Bulgaria and then an hours car ride to sunny beach, which is where he is now. Obviously drinking out there which will definitely help his gums harden, not. He said he will home in a week but I doubt it. By the way this is all being paid for by benefits. I will let you voice your honest opinions on this.
julie781x Unfortunately being an alcoholic he has told many lies so you never know when he is telling the truth. Sad really. The alcohol has got him and he is not the brother he once was. Tried helping but doesn’t want to know to the fact on two occasions he told me I’m not his sister. Unfortunately nothing he can do about that as I am. Haven’t heard from him since his arrival in Bulgaria but my mum does have a number of his friend out there. Going back to the teeth I would not trust putting my hands into the Turkey medical system for teeth or any other cosmetic surgery. Only in the daily mirror news yesterday a man has reported how his daughter died from a weight loss operation.
julie781x Update on my brother and his Turkey teeth. He has now been in Bulgaria for over three weeks. His mobility scooter broke down so by all accounts so got another one. That one broke, so now he has nothing. Asked for medical assistance to get home but was refused. Offered to help him at the airport and get him a taxi home, which he must claim back on insurance. Did he take out insurance probably not as with all his ailments no insurance would cover him. If he lied on insurance they will not pay out. He is due to fly home Saturday night the day mum who he lives with goes on holiday. So he has the house to himself to enjoy his drinking and vaping without being disturbed. He is then due to go back in March so they can fit the teeth. He is also on a liquid diet until then.
eyeballkerry OMG your poor Mum. I wonder what she will come home to. I go on the 10th of this month . Will let you know how I get on. Has he got temporary teeth ? I will be getting temporary one then will be going back to get permanent ones.
julie781x No, they took out all his teeth and said the gums were not strong enough for implants and come back in six months. He has tried dentures and didn’t get on with them. So literally no teeth or anything for six months.
Don’ t know anyone that has had their teeth done, but a friend had hair transplant in Turkey and he was more than happy with it. Wouldn’t be my choice thou, but each to their own.
Someone at work was thinking about it and said you need to have then redone every 10 years. Ive never thought about it personally don't even have a passport
I haven't heard of anyone close to me have it done nor have I however I think you always hear the bad stories online not the positives. You have to really look into each place and work out what happens if it can't be done in one visit etc or how likely it is you'd have to go back.
If you’re have an implants, you have to have your tooth removed and the gums have to be prepared which can take up to 6 months or more so you have to be prepared to go back to Turkey for checkups before everything can be complete. It can’t just be done in a couple of days. I certainly wouldn’t go abroad to have it done. a friend has just had implants done in this country process started about four or five months ago and still not completed yet as gums have to have time to heal and screws have to be checked to make sure they fit and teeth to be made. But beware if you have implants abroad and they have problems here the dentist will only remove your teeth and not replace them. You will have to pay again
tara73ziva Tara I have booked now for next month. I am aware that I will be going back at a later date months depending on the healing. I have spoken to loads of people on a site and they have been really happy with the results. My flight is all booked and I am looking forward to having it done. I will let you all know of the outcome of my journey.
julie781x I’m sure that you will have done your research and that all will go well it would be be great to know the outcome as it’s hard to find out the right places to go. My friend has paid a fortune in the uk for implants so I can see why going abroad is definitely cheaper.
tara73ziva yes I have done lots of research. I may became a dental technician after all this.
Step son had his teeth replaced in May. Procedure went as planned. He'd had a constant contact with someone from the clinic who spoke English and she talked him through each stage. He was collected at airport and taken to hotel, next day first in-person appointment impressions taken (he'd previously sent full x-rays from his UK dentist), within two days all teeth removed, posts in place for replacements. Day 4 temporary teeth fitted. Day 6 final check. Day 7 returned to airport and home. He found them slightly uncomfortable and a little getting used to but was pleased with result. He had to wait 4 - 6 month before going back for permanent teeth to give gums time to fully harden and settle. Total cost £4500 plus flights and £250 for girlfriend to stay at hotel. No food included.
There is no up-date for the permanent teeth as he didn't make the return journey.
