Anyone a Member of U3A, supposed to be a real good thing for older folk.

Wondered if anyone can give any positive/negative feedback on U3A (University of the Third Age). It is an institution set up for older people who have time on their hands and like to socialise and covers a really broad spectrum of events, talks, hobbies and pastimes.
Apparently you can do rambling (ending in a Pub for meal/drink), go to talks, keep fit, choirs, flower arranging and so on.
It seems a brilliant thing to be a part of but at the moment I work 11 out of 14 days and am so tired in the evenings I can't face going out. I am going to seriously look into it when I fully retire.
Oh My! Sorry! I completely missed this one - probably went past it because I didn't understand the title. lol. Yes, this is what I mean but I've never heard of this particular one. It sounds a very good idea and one you should look into.
angemski I definitely will but at present my work schedule is all over the place. I can start anywhere between 7.30am and noon and finish anywhere between 4.30pm and 7.45pm so cannot commit to anything on a regular basis. It does rather put a damper on your social life as we get each week's work on the Friday.
I have 3 friends I lunch with whenever possible but it can take 3 weeks to find a mutually convenient time lol!
