Anyone Noticing More Spiders

Ask a Question

We seem to have a lot of large spiders around at the moment. Anyone got the same and how is best to get rid or deter. I don’t mind a small one making a little web to catch the flies. But the big ones just come out night and run across the floor.

I have fairly bad arachnophobia and I have always every year dreaded late summer/early autumn. But last year I bought a spider catcher which works wonders. I used the vacuum cleaner before, but the spider catcher is a lot less hassle and I don't have the confidence to use a glass and piece of card. Such a life saver and really easy to use. I highly recommend it to all my fellow arachnophobes. Great for those big buggers.

Folklore says that putting conkers in your house gives off an odour that spiders don't like so they stay away.

Has anyone tried one of those plug in things that are meant to give off a sound to deter such things. Do they actually work?

I haven't seen any spiders yet, but I don't really have an issue with them. I'd rather keep clothes moths out.
