Is Anyone Watching Series 2 of the Traitors the Celebrities?
Ask a Question
I was absolutely hooked on series one. Never seen an episode before that one. Just been watching them all entering and to be a honest quite a few so called celebrities I don’t know. But on the other hand a few big names. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone but even after a few minutes watching I’m hooked again.
I only watched the first episode of the first series, but I've heard so many good things about it, I'll try to get round to watching this one on catch-up. Missed last night's opener, but I think that I'll take a look this afternoon.
AlysonC I had never watched before. It was my dad’s wife who recommended I watch it. At the beginning of the first series I was slightly confused as I had no idea what the show was about but it didn’t take long to get hooked. It can be slow in places but overall enjoyed. I have only seen a bit of the new one as it is something I watch with my husband. He won’t be happy if I watch without him.
eyeballkerry The first non-celeb series was recommended to me by my son, but I didn't get around to watching it.
It's the type of program that I'll be watching alone because my husband can't stand any of this type of show. He'll probably be watching some sport or old comedies on his tablet instead of giving them a chance.
AlysonC It’s not my husbands usual kind of programme. I think he was done after one big brother series, done a few Im a celebrity get me out of here. The traitors is pretty new to us but not sure how many new series I could do before I’m done. Some of these programmes have had their day. The format doesn’t change and it just gets so predictable. It’s nice my husband enjoys traitors as we can share the experience and talk about it.
Loving it already! Brilliant
cliffhanger at the end although don’t want either of those faithfuls to leave so soon. Poor Ross is totally paranoid already but makes for great tv. Bring it on
Karenmclark I have now nearly finished the second one of series two. I did guess which faithful would become a traitor. I don’t think they had much choice. If they had done it the other way round Richard would be on the chopping block. Ross Kemp is really over thinking it. I think he has watched every series and is constantly looking out for clues. Bella Ramsey putting the sailor hat on him really freaked him out. I bet the show producers wished they had thought of that one to kill one of them off.
Like you i only started watching it when the celeb version began & loved it. I watched the last non celeb one too & loved that. Iv watced the Irish series too. Im already hooked on this series, What was Richard thinking!! . That will keep coming up & see him come undone soon I think. Im not confident in any of the traitors so far tbh. I have a feeling James Blunt as a traitor would be so good!
Glitterandgold Did you enjoy the non celeb ones as much as the celebrity ones? They are probably still available to watch somewhere, if you recommend I will give them a go. Richard is such a big character that the others are just not sure if it was having a laugh. I know the producers were not happy, they have never had someone admit it before. I can’t see him staying long.
eyeballkerry I agree Richard likely won't be around for long, but then again Alan last series was an awful liar & yet still won . I did enjoy the regular series just as much. Pretty sure they are all on iplayer. The Irish one was tge first I watched after the celeb version, its hosted by the nun from Derry girls. Worth a watch!
Glitterandgold Thank you for the recommendation for the Irish one. I know the host very well not just from Derry Girls but also from the The Great Pottery Throw down and playing Della Fry in Amandaland. I will definitely see if I can find it on BBCIplayer. Can’t wait for next Thursday to see if Richard manages to stay in as a traitor.
My partner, our daughter & I have watched The Traitors from the very beginning before these celebrities came on board...
We used to put our gowns on with the hood & pretend to be Traitors, all part of the experience!!
janphoenix51 I didn’t have any interest in it before my dads wife recommended I watch it. So my first one was the celebrity ones. Loved Alan Carr in it and also never been a fan of Stephen Fry but he came across really well in it. I’m hoping Romesh and Rob do well, I like them together. Not sure Jerry Hall knows what is going on but didn’t blame her for saying ‘haggis‘ when they were buried. I don’t think I could have survived. Love to hear you dress up, that sounds like great fun. Where did you get the gowns? Are they your dressing gowns?
I really like the traitors and every series brings something different. I think this one could be similar to last year with lots of laughs. I can't tell yet how it will play out though, there's lots of big personalities in it. I don't know how Claudia keeps a straight face .
Swimmer94 I am already hooked. No one is annoying me at the moment which is good. Shame one has gone already. I remember how quick Paloma Faith went, would have liked her to have stayed longer. Claudia may be able to keep a straight face but when I see some of her outfits I can’t keep a straight face. The boots she had on last night were massive, I can’t believe her feet filled them!
eyeballkerry her style gets me every time although Maya's outfit had me questioning "fashion" too
. I can't believe how quickly a traitor went but then again he just came out with it without thinking. They work so well as a team currently too.
Swimmer94 I did wonder what Maya’s wearing. Someone said she looked like the Sugar puff Monster. Who am I to judge. I am off the older generation so have no idea on fashion. It was just odd to wear something like that indoors, she must have been sweating. I am a bit behind on the traitors as my husband does night work so we will catch up tonight.
I didn't understand it when the first series came out so didn't watch it. After someone explained it I watched the second series and got absolutely hooked. This was before celebrities. I enjoy all of them now I understand the game. This new series has already creased me up in hysterics. I know it's all supposed to be atmospheric, mysterious and serious but I'm just laughing at all the reactions so far. Looking forward to the whole game.
JLouM I was bit a confused when I watched it first time. It was the celebrity on and it seemed a bit dark with all the coffins. I still don’t particularly like the part where they lie in coffins but obviously that’s all part of it. Really didn’t like them all being buried in this new series, especially when they locked them with the chain and then actually put the dirt back on top. I would have been calling out haggis like Jerry did.
eyeballkerry Ha ha. I know what you mean and it's all very Gothic and dark and that's how they want you to feel it I suppose. None of it's real though is it? It's all a set and a lot of theatre really, nothing different to what you would see on a stage. A lot of actors would be used to that sort of thing. I understand Jerry though as she's a model so probably more like us.
JLouM They entered the dirty hut last night so there was alot of drama and screaming going on. I do think some of them over acted. Probably told to make it look scary. I dont believe Rob Beckett is acting though, he seems scared of his own shadow, hope he doesn’t leave soon.
eyeballkerry Yes I saw it and think the same as you. Yes I would have liked to see more of the Rob and Rom duo as they make me laugh. Unfortunately they are both at risk as both picked for the crypt hide and seek game. It's a shame when entertaining ones leave as we get left with less vibrant personalities. Miranda seems doing well so far though, hope she stays.
JLouM It’s always the same as you say the ones that are more entertaining go first. Would have liked to have seen more of Richard. Michael Sheen is very quiet to the extent I forget he is even in it. Shame Julie went, won’t miss Bella. I am hoping they pick Leigh-Anne’s crypt which means they all stay. Need more of Rob and Romesh and Ross Kemp is hilarious when doing a task but not as funny as James ‘bossy’ Blunt.
I started to watch the very first traitors but I couldn't get into it. Then I watched the celebrity traitors series 1 with Alan carr and I absolutely loved it. It is compelling viewing and very entertaining. I havent seen series 2 yet of the celebrities traitors though. Its a great concept and it does get you hooked.
nev23 I never watched it until my dads wife told me about it and the celebrity one was coming on. Alan Carr was amazing in it. I like the fact we know who the traitors are so you know how sneaky they are being. To us it was so obvious it was Alan but they couldn’t see it.
I was out of the country when it started, but am fully caught up now. Was there 21 contestants last series as well because it certainly feels like a lot of them. Enjoying it so far and I would 100% be voting Richard out first after what happened last year. Imagine not doing it, after what he did, you would be kicking yourself.
I did read that James Arcaster apparently had some sort of breakdown on set due to the pressure of the show as well.
Glad you managed to catch it, I think it was worth doing. There are usually between 19 to 25 contestants in each series. Always seems a lot of the beginning but they disappear quickly. I remember how quickly Paloma Faith went, how dramatic it was and done by her friend Alan Carr. I don’t think we will remember Amol in the same way. I think we will forget him very quickly.
I loved the last celebrity series, Alan Carr was so funny and the show made me laugh out loud many times. I don't know some of this years cast but hope that it will be another good version and a nice distraction for this time of year when we go into colder dark nights and I'm not out and about so much.
MarthaJone54748 I know a few of the so called celebrities. Love the fact both Romesh and Rob are on the show. If one of the these become a traitors it will definitely turn the show around. At the moment they are trusting each other.
Back on tonight.
I think that Richard E Grant might get kicked out tonight which would be a shame because I find him funny. I nearly peed myself when he asked Rob Beckett whether he had more teeth than a normal person
TheChimp you would hope so given how terribly he has played the game, they seem to have him pretty sussed because it isn’t just him saying “i’m a traitor” they also picked up on his mood before and after the round table etc.
I kind of feel like maybe he wanted to get off the show as quickly as possible or just didn’t care, which is kind of annoying, as much as I like him. I also didn’t think it was really fair for Jerry Hall to just refuse to do the buried alive task and so the professor is up for murder alongside her. It kind of annoys me when celebs sign up for these shows but then don’t get involved.
TheChimp It was so funny when Richard asked about his teeth. I have watched last nights one yet but saw in the news who went. Not a surprise. Very different from last years celebrity crowd. I am waiting for Rob or Romesh to become a traitor that will really mess things up.
My teen is making us watch it as they love someone on it. No idea who. Im not interested in it at all
TheChimp she's got right into it and loving it. Its sort of growing on me if I'm honest
Jerseydrew You're going to have to find out who your teen has a crush on. Could be Rob if they like people with a mouthful of teeth.
I watched last night’s episode of Celebrity Triators. I might go bbc iplayer to view previous episodes as apparently Richard E Grant announced he was a chosen member.
I hate shows like this and any that come under reality show genre. Give me a good drama, film, sitcom or quiz show any day. I especially dislike shows where z list celebs you've never heard of take part.
Lynibis I am not usually into reality shows. It was my dad’s wife that recommended that I watch the celebrity one last year. I was surprised she would watch reality but actually I really like it and got hooked pretty quickly. But we can’t all like the same things. I have a varied viewing when it comes to tv but have cut down a lot these past couple of years.
To be honest I was kind of on the fence about the cast this year and also wasn’t that keen on the first few episodes. Last nights episode though was fantastic and the game has really kicked into gear now. There is a lot more confusion and chaos compared to the first celebrity series, long may it continue because it has become really exciting.
jms19 I am getting to know the unknown celebrities a bit better. I love the way they think they know who it is and they are way off. Now three faithfuls have gone they are really confused. Hannah only just managed to stay but believe it won’t be long before she goes. I understand she is a professor but I dont like the fact she keeps telling us she is intelligent.
