Artificial Sweeteners Can Turn Healthy Gut Bacteria into Pathogens

In the News

The scientists are saying that these sweeteners used as a sugar substitute ,and are found in soft drinks, baked foods, chewing gum and ice cream to name a few , are a great danger to our gut and can cause organ failure

There have always been warnings about artificial sweeteners, especially related to cancers, but this goes a step further and fully explains the findings

We worry more about food additives that are contributing to causing allergies in children , but i think this is a more serious matter

The government and scientists have been quick enough to ban sugar in food and soft drinks and steered people towards using food and drinks with artificial sweeteners , now we find they are worse than the sugar

Doesn't surprise me tbh.

I know the effect that artificial sweeteners have on me, so it costs me a fortune to buy full sugar pops.

It has never made sense to me that you replace something natural with something artificial. The best thing we can do is cut down on the amount of sugar we eat. That’s why I hate Weightwatchers food because they don’t encourage you to train yourself to enjoy less sweet things.

I dont know the answer to avoiding soft drinks completely , even i like the occasional can of coke or orange, its just a matter of moderation and learning to control the addiction

I've never really liked fizzy drinks except water or the occasional soda and lime.

Its mainly the kids that get addicted to fizzy drinks, they get the instant hit and love the sweet taste

telmel thank you for sharing this article.

Did you watch the What Are We Feeding Our Kids programme? I was absolutely horrified by the results of the experiment that Dr Chris did on himself. I really try not to give my kid processed food but watching this has made me try even harder to put a limit on it.

Its horrific what goes into processed foods S ,this is why kids have so many allergies , all the chemicals and additives , its a chemical concoction rather than a meal

I try to avoid artificial sweeteners wherever possible and stick to natural sugars, which the government has now made harder to do! Aspartame especially sends me dappy, it's evil!
