Avoid sweeteners. theyre so so bad for your health I made this mistake first of all. just slow and steady reductions eg one less sugar in a cuppa or one less bar of chocolate a day you know that sort of thing. Also, note that fruit juices are full of sugar and little to no fiber so any more than a glass a day would be considered too much and really no benefit To you at all. Slow and steady wins the race 😁

Thanks for the advice. I agree sweetener are bad for you. Date sugar is meant to be healthy in moderation much better than crane sugar.

I avoid sugar altogether and those artificial sweeteners are nothing but chemicals which are disgusting! For sweetness, honey is a good natural alternative.

Dr. Sebi speaks on the hybrid honey bee and it's honey. Hybrid honey bees honey is acidic and high in sugar (often mixed with synthetic fillers and high fructose corn syrup to boost profits) it is also contaminated with high levels of pesticides from gmo crop production, therefore being toxic to consume.

You also have to be careful what type of honey you consume

Sugar is sugar does not matter which kind is it.... Brown, light, natural... honey, agave... Etc...

Best to go on original Atkins diet... If u want to avoid sugar First 2 weeks are hell... No milk... Etc

But nutritionist would tell that the majority of our diet should build up from carbs... Sugar is there too... Bread, flour, rice, pasta... Yep fruits and veg are carbs too... Some of them high in sugar, like banana...

The problem is not with the sugars... But when u have fat and sugar and it reacts.

I am not against sweeteners.. Some of them also comes from natural origin. I heard bad things about aspartame which as damaging as alcohol for the brain... Was in an Australian study. But just need to decide if it worst than heart attack or diabetes... I do not think so.

I use honey as an alternative.. Or used banana, some sweet fruits to add in yougurts, making pancakes, etc

Hi zerocenturyzero i get what they call raw honey. Its from hive to jars. They put nothing in. Just pour honey. And its not sweet. A jar starts at £5.99. I love it. 🐝🐝🐝🐝

I don't know where all the negative comments about sweeteners are coming from, they might not actually make people healthier - but they don't make people unhealthy either.

Artificial Sweeteners. These sweeteners are acidifying. The bad sweeteners include aspartame (Nutrasweet), saccharin (Sweet and Low), neotame, suralose (Splenda), acesulfame (Sunette, Sweet & Safe, Sweet One), and cyclamates. They all break down into deadly acids in the body.

zerocenturyzero No disrespect but that site should be retitled "How to starve yourself to death" I prefer advice from recognised sources. ☺ (but even they CAN be wrong)

We need acids in our body to digest food (they're not deadly).

The best advice I ever heard from a world famous nutritional scientist was "There's no such thing as junk food - only the quantities in which it's eaten".

davidstockport I agree with what you are saying. Just about everything nowadays is apparently bad for us. I think the best thing you can do is to have a well balanced diet; that means everything in moderation including a little bit of sugar. But NOT too much of it however.

I think all this talk about aspartame and others is just scaremongering. I have never once in my life personally heard of anyone becoming ill as a consequence of consuming aspartame.

And just like you, I am far more inclined to believe recognised sources.

RegularComper90 We're in full agreement - of course being in RIP OFF UK we're expected to pay MORE for things with reduced sugar. I wonder if anyone would complain if they were charged more for a cup of BLACK coffee (without milk). ☺

I used to put sugar on my Weetabix everyday, replaced it with honey instead, Cut all sodas out and replaced it with water, have coke once a month as a treat, White bread has a lot of sugar, switched to brown bread. I don't eat healthy breakfast bars as they tend to have more sugar then a bar of chocolate

I was listening to a thing on Radio 4 a few hours ago that was saying much of the recent things said about sugar were effectively fake news. Apparently all the things saying about 10 year olds having consumed as much sugar as an 18 year old would have consumed at those ages (or something like that)- were mainly because some one moved the goal posts. Did anyone else hear it?

I was mending one of my computers (successfully) so wasn't paying 100% attention.

I have never been into sweet things, so it’s easy for me. Sugar is like a drug - the more you have of it, the more you want, and it does a lot of damage. Avoid it at all costs (easily said by the person who doesn’t like sweet things!)

Get your sugar intake from fruits instead of sweets and chocolate. I'm not one to talk though, I love my sugary sweets and chocolate 😅

Be more aware of the hidden sugars in prepared foods, everything from yogurts to ready meals. Cooking from scratch eliminates a lot of this. But I am a firm believer everything in moderation (except wine which should be enjoyed frequently:-) )
