Were You Aware of the Planned Ban on Buy-One-Get-One Free Deals?

It would make more sense to buy the products for half price, it might make less waste.

I think it's a rubbish idea, its going to take alot more than banning buy one get one free to stop obesity unfortunately. Higher taxes on takeaway and fast food outlets may help. They would in my opinion be better investing the time and money into more sports at school for kids that are over weight ect. Giving obese families access to see nutritionalist who can help them eat better for their body build and type.

People will eat what they want and buy what they want so it's not gonna make any difference at all same with sugar tax that hasn't made any difference

My hubby had mentioned it to me, I don't think it will make a huge difference at the end of the day unhealthy foods are highly addictive so if do eat them regularly you are going to struggle to change. It's also hard if you have kids that won't eat healthy foods. My son being one. He knows fruit and veg are healthy, but won't eat it. His sister's enjoy their fruit and veg. ( My youngest daughter is limited choice of fruit and veg she eats). Always try variety. It's colourful package that attracts kids. They are also want to ban meal deals also.

Well ain't that just another lot of old cobblers from the nanny state, how much more do they want to rob us, most of the things we buy these days are reduced in sugar and salt then there's the portion sizes of everything else which have been shrinking for quite a while now, the buy one get one free deals are probably the only way that some families will be able to survive, Bawheid Johnstons and Lego Heid Sturgeons' Government need to have serious look at how this is affecting the genuine families who rely on these deals.

Can't really say I've seen Buy One Get One Free deals for quite a while now, most common now is the multi buy deal .

They could try making healthier options cheaper as an instinctive. Instead of punishing be rewarded for good behaviour

I had heard about it. Why don't they just change the rules so that it is only healthy food that can be on bogof. I haven't seen any bogofs recently anyway.

It just shows, yet again, that the government have lost any grip they ever had on reality. Any deals that the public benefit from, in supermarkets, are removed as quickly as possible!

I think it is a terrible idea and a step too far in telling us what we can or cannot do, as if it is a criminal act!

It will have no effect at all on curbing obesity. I often buy two for one or buy two get one free. Most of the products sold this way have long use by dates and they sit in my cupboard and are used no more often than were I to pay full price. This sort of thing sickens me with the current cost of living. They would do better to control adverts for all the rubbish junk food people can't seem to wean themselves away from.

Bye bye democracy n free choice, hello dictorship. We live in a free democratic sovereign state, whether you agree or disagree with these offers should be errelavant, free choice should ALWAYS win, dangerous road to continue to head down where choice is taken away
