Take Away from Pubs

Ask a Question

Loads of pubs are doing take aways to keep them going but do you think it will work.

If I want a curry I go to the Indian, fish and chips I go to the chippy etc etc

I wouldn't give my local pub the time of day.

To be honest, the whole village is waiting for it to close and be taken over by someone decent.

TheChimp Maybe that person is you - instead of constantly complaining about how bad it is.

Dennab Na, the landlord is a nasty piece of work.

I'm all for supporting local business, but me and the wife would rather travel further to another pub than go to the one down the road.

He's upset my wife so many times. And whoever upsets my wife, upsets me.

TheChimp Fully understood but I meant you could be that decent person to take over.

I'm struggling to think where my local pub is. I don't think we even have one. The closest one certainly isn't 'local' and it is a terrible place. Plus they might have sneezed and coughed on your chips. I'll stick to oven chips for now. Come to think of it, there no chippy either here. You can tell I've moved out to the last bit of countryside. 😀

Why not? Pub offers burgers and other things too....or they can change the menu and maybe some will make curry

Can't see it being viable for the majority of pubs, they will still need to order in food, pay staff , electric etc but are unlikely to be able to drum up a great deal of trade as people are not aware of the service what they are offering etc and there are already a large number of Takeaways in most area where there are pubs.

Don't know if it is true or more fake headlines but it is 'reported' that Wetherspoons boss intends to keep his pubs open.. No words!

We live in a rural area and our viallge pub is doing this. I think it's a great idea and their food is delicious. We've already ordered our mothers day Sunday carvery takeaway from them for mothers day tomorrow.

I think that's different as this is probably the hub of the village and you would support each other and be mindful of distancing. If and I repeat 'if' the news is true, the footfall if Wethers would be totally irresponsible. I just hate so many rumours and want to know if it's true!

I wouldnt want to order takaways at this time as you still NEVER KNOW if its been 'compromised' ( infected) by anyone in any contact with the virus- even unknowingly🤔🙁

I’ve only ever found grub from gastropubs in the country decent. And Sunday roasts aren’t to bad either. But food from standard pubs? No thanks - the curries are never flavoursome or spicy, the thai is overdone and tasteless, the burgers are poor quality...
