There is a good range on this link.
Ive just sent for halogen type.i tried the airfryer it didnt seem to cook properly.theres a good price one on the Aldi website- ambiano one. I bought the ambiano microwave a few months ago & its working well.
Forget it its just a gimmick - the only thing it does is save leccie
I love ma chips so bought one thinking it would do everything with a different taste but it doesnt your oven is just as good and it takes just as long if not longer to cook in it than the oven - you also have to keep turning things over if you dont have one with a paddle as it doesnt cook evenly which is a right pain.
In fact mine is the large Tower 4.5 litre from Argos and girlfriend wont eat anything out of it she says everything tastes plasticky - £40 wasted!
Honestly i have used it 3 times since i bought it and i love my chips and chicken.
It has gone into that cupboard to rest in peace along with the popcorn maker, candyfloss machine, panini grill etc
You know its true!
Well I've got an old Phillips air fryer with mechanical timer. It's been a brilliant buy and is very solid construction. It has a proper long life heating element rather than a halogen bulb. The built in fan circulates the fat molecules so does a pretty good job of cooking chips all over but I do tend to take out the tray and shake it half way through cooking. Love chips done in it and many other foods. I have a halogen as well which I do use for some of the same foods and also different foods to the air fryer. Both good devices.
I've seen some cheap air fryers which look very weak and flimsy but I have no idea if they work well for cooking.
I ended up never using mine. It just didn’t taste the same. Went back to a regular fryer in the end
Chips definitely taste better in a conventional fryer but they can still taste very nice in an air fryer and you have far less calories in the chips. If you are buying commercial oven chips and using an air fryer there is very little difference in fact I think the air fryer does a better job but if you are comparing home cut potato chips that are cooked in a conventional fryer those taste much nicer than the air fryer cooking raw potato chips with a bit of oil on.
Love mine ,I had a Philips one then replaced it with tower small one as easier to clean but it's used everyday and it's a lot more convenient than oven and a lot quicker too.
