The best budget-y chorizos?
Other
I find Aldi's Spanish spicy chorizo alright but not that great because eating it raw just doesn't taste good whereas fried (or grilled) up it does. Honestly, I prefer raw chorizo as well as jamón (it can be found in some supermarkets under the name "serrano ham"), chorizon and the likes.
I'll be trying LIDL tomorrow.
Brands such as Nobre, Campofrio, Serrano, Ranchero, etc you can be sure you're getting quality meat though they tend to cost a bit more, of course.
Hey, ironically Aldi and Lidl are sometimes the best for these because they import from Spain! I too get it from there but usually mine's for pastas...
Perhaps you may want to go to a supermarket with a deli counter? No doubt more expensive, but probably much tastier.
I feel treats to yourself like this is absolutely fine if you can afford it. Save on the big ticket items like buying a second hand car or cycling to work. Just that one money saving decision allows you to have 1,000X more expensive chorizo sausages a year!
Tom True. There are times when it's worth spending an extra pound to get a real quality product over a just edible one.
I tend to get it stored so it's something I take time to appreciate it's flavour 'cause UK isn't the mother country of chorizo.
Tom My parents and grandparents did, I got to see how everything went along. If I remember correctly, it tasted really good.
.A chorizo is sorta like a big condom full of meat :meat. Heh.
TK MAXX has some in their shops, you should have a look...
Also these ones are very good...http://www.hungariandeli.co.uk/szaraz-husaru-szalami-kolbasz-234-c.asp
AgnesFaludi Hungarian ones? That's certainly interesting.
Didn't know TK Maxx sold this type of food. Thanks.
Rockman TK MAXX has Spanish ones...
Hungarian ones are very good...I think Coop sells some small, snack ones...The brand is Pick and I also saw once in Tesco that they sell some...
AgnesFaludi I visited TK Maxx at Uxbridge but they didn't have any food that I could see, only toys, clothes, shoes and such.
Iceland happens to sell the same chorizos as Aldi. Not great but it's out there.
AgnesFaludi thankd for the photo and section. Those chorizos look far better than the ones they sell at Aldi, Iceland and LIDL.
I dont get why they havr such limited quantity cause this is worth buying!
Rockman I think they buy a lot of these, but than they send to different stores and it is depends on the area if customers will pick it up fast or they have it for weeks...
