What is the Best Chinese Phone Brand?

Ask a Question

I really want to buy a cheap phone but I don't want something that will stop working after a few months.

Any suggestions?

If you want something cheap, then xiaomi is probably a good choice - for the price charged, their phones specs are decent, and I don’t know many people who complain about xiaomi

Is there much difference in reliability of phones? I tend to think going for the proven technology is the best option whatever the brand and choosing a brand with frequent firmware updates so you know they will correct firmware problems. Saying that I'm completely cheap when it comes to phones and have a Ding Ding X9 which is a Malaysian brand (made in China though) and serves me well enough it was £44 from Amazon warehouse. There are a couple quirks in the firmware but the phone seems very well made. I bought a £20 256GB microsd card (mymemory branded) and works great in the phone so have about 272GB of storage for music, movies and apps. Camera is very good quality except no macro focus option, blurry for close up shots, ebay adverts etc, however great quality for normal photos and has a 16M sensor. The 1080p screen is nice and vivid too. Very happy with it. Previously had a Doogee phone, I forget the model that had a 720p screen but developed a ghost touch fault on the LCD screen after about 2 years but the phone had a lot of abuse and was dropped on a few occasions. I would of bought a Doogee phone again if one had come up cheap but the X9 was the better option at the time.

I have an Honor (Huawei) and loved it until recent updates. It's very frustrating to use now, with the way it handles apps in memory.

I'm considering Xiaomi devices as I've heard great things about them. Both brands are on par with pricing and offer great specs for low prices.
