Ask a Question
Where would you recommend for the best free tourist attractions in and around London? (Within 30 minute drive from London).
National History Museum
next door Science Museum
British Museum
National Gallery
Thames Embankment walk ,
Hyde Park Picnic ,
Thanks so much, this is a great list. Out of those three museums, is there one you would recommend above the othere's, particularly with young kids?
SaverDeals , i ve taken my kids to all of them , each one is too big to do all of it , so target what interests them most , so easy to overload and bore young kids , each can get crowded too , so time it right to avoid less crowds , personally , impressionists seem to pull more interests with kids , probably the bright colours , so if you go to National gallery , go in reverse order , if your kids engage in conversation , maybe Tate modern , also free will interest them more , after crossing the Harry potter bridge , if they are fans ,
National History , is all animals of course , but Science next door has more inter active for children , if yours are boys they may like the changing of the guards too , 11 am i think at Buckingham Palace , next to St james park where you can feed the exotic birds on the lake , near by at Horse Guards is mounted guard with horse , kids love that too ...........London is great , has so much to see and do

ooh this sounds like a really good idea, thanks so much for sending the link. I hadn't thought of that but sound like a great way to sight see.
also free , although they do want change , kids like the street entertainment , Leicester square and covent garden
Hampstead Heath, Primrose Hill, Borough Food Market, Maltby Street Food Market (Sat & Sun). Tate Britain and despite what happened in Tate Modern the other day I'd still recommend going there. UK residents can arrange a free 75 min tour of both Houses of Parliament through their local MP - https://www.parliament.uk/visiting/visiting-and-tours/tours-of-parliament/tours/
Most of the Art museums are also free and kids love Tate modern.
Science Museum is really great.
