Best Scar Repair Cream?
Ask a Question
I recently had an op on my arm but I don't like how the scar looks, Any recommendations of what to use apart from Bio Oil?
I am not sure if there is anything good. I think Bio oil is not good at all. I tried it and it did not help me a bit. Scars are some kind of skin damages and not sure how to repair them. Probably mines would need plastic surgery instead of creams.
It used to be thought that creams containing Vitamin E would help but now the general consensus is that petroleum jelly (Vaseline) is just as good.... if not better. https://www.surgery.org/consumers/plastic-surgery-news-briefs/vaseline-expensive-scar-remedies-1034552
Hi,
I also have a 6 inch scar on my arm. Once the stitches were out, and the skin had healed up enough that all the dressings and plasters could come off, I was advised by my surgeon to use 3M Micropore Tape to hold the wound together for a further 3 months to reduce scaring. It’s good stuff and dries quickly when you get it wet. It’s a bit like breathable masking tape for the skin.
I've heard really good things about this scar cream! I've not personally used it, but some of my friends have and they said it worked amazing for them. Might be worth checking it out
Yahya please be careful my friend had surgery n was left with a 10" scar n bought an expensive brand which was recommended to her x she used it twice and was admitted to hospital as it burned through the scar and opened up her wound x the doctors said it contained something that was like peroxide that burned through the scar tissue so please be careful and check ingredients on anything you buy x good luck and hope your scar fades x
