Birthday Discounts?
Other
Good morning everyone.
I was just wondering how many emails you all get from companies, when it is your birthday, offering you discounts etc? I can't think how many I have already received today but I recall in previous years it has been 100 or more....
That's exactly it. There are so many that even if you were King Midas if you used all the offers you would be broke at the end..
I just had my birthday. And yes I had loads of email. Some I never heared of it started on midnight of my birthday. Right through the day right up to midnght. I was getting sick of it. All day my tablet was beeping beeping. Come next next day tablet was quite. Just my normal emails.
I didn't become obsessed with deal and freebie hunting until Jan of this year, and haven't had my birthday for this year yet. But I did sign up to receive those sorts of emails on my birthday, so let's wait and see. You got me a little excited now. x
I don't think I got more than about 2 or 3 that I could actually get any use from. I hope you get more useful ones than I did!
NicolaMcCourt I have won around 8 comps so far this year. I find comping to be addictive now. xx
Firstly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY and secondly yes I got lots of email too when was my birthday! I loved it though Of course so of them I didn't bother at all,but some of them where great like the body shop with £5, and sweet treat from Greggs
Thank you for the HB. You are the first to pick up on the fact that it actually was my birthday. You have made me smile today - something I badly needed! I think Seasalt was my favourite, with the sale on an extra 10% is great.
Marlena It was cr*p actually, but we have to move onwards and upwards and hope that the next one is better.
That's a shame tumblespots! Sorry to hear that but you know what tomorrow it's another day, let's make it count and make it better
I signed up to loads and the only one that offered me anything for my birthday was krispy kreme donuts. I can't eat them due to my allergies but my mum enjoyed it. Body shop nothing (I though it was a £5 voucher), hobbs nothing (wasn't this meant to be a candle), etc. Nothing not even from the restaurant chains I signed up with.
Yes Hobbs gives a candle apparently but I believe you have to collect from their store but they should of email you before hand
... and regarding the body shop, they didn't email to me anything about it but this credit was showing in my account within 24h from my birthday (I was expecting so I was checking). It's worth to sign in and check. I don't know if there is expiring date on it or not. If you had birthday quite recently you could email them about it. There was no minimum spend on in and you can use it online too with free click & collect
Marlena Thanks for the tip. I'll try logging in but I think it was set up with my googlemail account that google shut down on Monday evening because I had a new router for my broadband deliver and I plugged in and they claimed they couldn't prove it was me logging in because my IP address had changed. I was livid. then facebook booted me out too for the same reason. I had to get new accounts. I'll try logging into the bodyshop but I'm sure it was on that googlemail account and I'mcan't remember what password I used to set up the bodyshop.
That's a shame. Maybe try to email the body shop directly explaining the situation and possibly they could help you different way. Although that sounds like a lot of effort for this £5 thought
ShellyAnn The IP thing seems like an excuse. I always use a VPN (hides my real IP and masks with another country IP) whenever I'm online so it doesn't matter as long as it gets the job done.
