Blocked Drain

Ask a Question

Please can anyone advise what to do with a block drain in the bath? I have tried vinegar and baking soda and Mr muscle. I have read podwer is better but I don't to carry on buying things if it doesn't work.

Try washing up liquid, hot water and a plunger. Put the washing up liquid down the drain, put in some hot water and then use the plunger. It should break down what is clogging the drain. If it is a build up of hair then you could try one of the drain hair brushes, otherwise you might need to call out a plumber

Borrow a plunger to pull up the gunk then pour washing powder down and a boiling kettle of water.

I’d second this - it gets so much out that you didn’t even know was there!

Soda crystals are my go to for sinks much better than caustic soda and the ready made bottles but don't know if bath would be the same ,if it's hair a manual removal if possible is best

A 99p plunger 🪠. Otherwise it would mean the bath panel off and taking a u-bend off

Caustic Soda from the £1 shop mixed with cold water always dissolves all them hairs and gunk. Always wear gloves & follow instructions on back carefully. This method has never failed me or dissolved my pipes in the process

Check the external drain first before you do it, if that's blocked then you gotta get your hands in i'm afraid in clean it the good old fashioned way
