Bonuses given out by a Generous Boss

In the News

Unfortunately, it’s not something I have experienced myself. But maybe one day I will work for Edward St John in the US

I was expecting the boss would have given $100/£100 or more, but that's certainly far more impressive.

That will never happen over here... Bosses are far too greedy. 🐞

Bosses generally don't like to give their money, even if it's just $1/£1.

Wow those staff were extremely lucky. I’ve only ever heard of bankers getting huge bonuses, yes even the ones bailed out.

Yes it’s absolutely scandalouS! When you read about failing companies, yet the bosses got x million as a bonus...definitely dodgy goings on in the companies

Wow I wished I worked for him! This reminds me of Undercover Boss USA when the manager always gives their employees thousands of pounds at the end of the program! At my last workplace you would normally get a £50-60 food hamper, which wasn’t too bad considering there was 700+ employees at all the sites.

That’s quite generous, and fair too, as everyone gets the same thing. It’s always good to hear employees being treated well

I've never gotten anything at christmas from an employer but there was this one year when I was working for a medicial professor. Everyone was excited as previously he had given out hampers to his staff. He turns up with a small box and says happy christmas this is for you all. Inside the world's smallest hamper to be shared with about 18 people. I got a packet of crisps. It was one item each and only enough for those who were there when he arrived. staff out of office didn't get anything. We all felt he shouldn't of bothered really. 🤣

From my employer this year, we got £60 added to our wages as a ‘Christmas gift‘, which is nice and all.. but then they share with us that in one week, in 8 stores, they made 1 million pounds.. so that’s 8 million pounds without counting the 500+ other stores across the U.K, in one week... we all work our socks off at this time of year so £60 isnt really worth it... my brother worked for a big, well known company in their warehouse and got £18,000 one year as a Christmas bonus 🤦🏻‍♀️

I get a Christmas bonus but I work for a small family business. smaller family businesses tend to be generous than your big companies even though they have a lot less money

We have a contractoral bonus that is based on meeting our targets. It works out quite well as, for example, if you meet half of your targets you get half your bonus. Nowhere near the amounts these people got, but it's nice to finish the year with of extra cash.

What a lovely story, especially at this time of year. The true spirit of Christmas and one man's generosity shining through, what a beautiful soul. Think of all those lives he will have touched. So heartwarming.

I could see how much it meant to the staff, as it almost made me cry with joy when I saw some of the staff bursting into tears of happiness. Indeed a very wonderful festive treat for this time of year
