Boris Now in Intensive Care!

In the News

Now that Boris has been moved into intensive care, does this consolidate your views on staying at home, self-isolation and social distancing?

What are you views? Will you change anything going forward.

Let’s wish Boris a speedy recovery.

Xx

I'm not a conservative either Caz2 but out of all our most recent leaders I like Boris the most. Seems like a nice guy if a bit daft at times. The last thing he needed right now was this. It seems like he's in a very bad state at the moment, so fingers crossed he pulls through, If only for that little ones sake.

I’ve not been out for a couple of weeks. My husband, although working from home does go out and on his return washes himself down and cleans any shopping with an antibacterial wipe before putting it away. Stay safe everyone and I wish Boris a speedy recovery x

I wipe my shopping down with wipes too. I've seen shoppers pick items up and then put the item back on the shelf 🤨 As for Boris, Get well Soon 👍

The length of time people remain infected and battle the virus seems to vary enormously. I suspect I might have the virus myself but if I do I've had it since mid January but I've neither succumbed to it or beaten it, It just seems to have been with me for about 10 weeks. Yes maybe its just a winter's bug, a cold or minor flu but it doesn't feel like that as the symptoms are similar to Covid 19 although I haven't really had a fever but at what seems quite random times breathing is more difficult and my sense of smell and taste is reduced, I have the dry cough. They symptoms are there but not at a level that is uncomfortable. It sometimes feels like my air passage is slightly reduced, partially blocked. I believe I have good lung capacity as regularly use a exercise bike often on high friction settings and don't smoke. I wonder how I'd feel with reduced lung capacity.

There is growing evidence that there are at least 2 strains one possibly more deadly than the other so don't get into a false sense of security if you have or had the virus and think you now have immunity you may actually have had the weaker of the two strains and there may be more than 2 strains anyway.

https://www.newscientist.com/article/2236544-coronavirus-are-there-two-strains-and-is-one-more-deadly/

As ever social distancing is still critical as we simply don't know enough about it at the moment. Many will have it and have no symptoms at all or such light symptoms they don't even think about it. Estimates have stated perhaps 15 million have been infected with the virus in the uk already. I feel like the time people can be infected and contagious is going to vary enormously too. A lot of the information we are getting is best guesses as the immune systems of people vary so greatly.

Take Zinc and vitamin D and regularly exercise especially exercises that increase lung capacity.

Somehow with Boris Johnson in intensive care it seems like it takes this virus to a higher level again and shows the reality of this deadly virus.

I can't believe the trolling about this on fb and twitter! There are some very vile people out there. What happened to be kind? Even a Derbyshire Mayor/Councillor had a pop at him. What is wrong with people?

It is awful behaviour, it’s sad to see that people act this way. Like you say, what an earth is wrong with people. Let’s hope they are not affected by covid as no one should feel sorry for them!

I am certainly no Tory supporter, but regardless of one's political views Boris is still a human being - someone's father, fiance, son, brother etc. I cannot believe some people actually wished death upon him. That is just sick, no matter who it is.

Theres a pair of idiots been in one of the sainsburys and licked their hands& wiped em all over the food...and theyre putting it on newsfeed to find them,so it begs the question- why didnt security stop them doing it straightaway and then detain them till police arrived? Im sure they have some protective gear now this is all going on.🤔otherwise do they let shoplifters walk straight out too...
