Brushing Your Teeth in the Mornings - before or after Breakfast?
Other
Just curious - I find that whenever I pose this question, there is always a divide!
I think it’s more logical to do it before, to get rid of the overnight, stink breath and fuzzy tongue
Definitely before breakfast, and straight after shower. That way you greet the day fresh all over.
indeed I have heard some people brush their teeth whilst they shower to kill 2 birds with one stone...it's not something I've tried yet!
I was told by a dentist if you do it after breakfast to wait half an hour, otherwise you are actually helping the plaque to build up as you are pushing sugar etc into your teeth and gums
SandyRhodes I was told this as a teenager because I had braces and stuff got stuck behind them anyway, so it was to minimise the damage and I've been doing it ever since
yes that is true - the saliva does a lot of the work for you, so by brushing it right away, it actually does more harm than good. I did have a dentist friend who actually advised that a rinse of water after every meal is sufficient, and doesn't disturb the natural cleaning process
Brush em so you get that morning scent off. I do hate my morning hair but once it's tidied up (have to wash it too), love it.
I brush when i woke up and then after eating breakfast, lunch and before going to bed lol. Routine
I always brush after breakfast. There is a risk of enamel or gum damage if you brush too much
Personally, I have to brush my teeth as soon as I get out of bed (and before I go to bed). Any other time just feels wrong and dirty. I also find when it gets done first thing, I avoid the embarrasment of realising I've not brushed my teeth before I left the house. I don't understand People that do it after breakfast, it baffles me!
