Brussels Sprouts
Ask a Question
I personally do not like brussel sprouts, I have tried them on numerous occasions, cooked various ways and do not like them, which is surprisingly I love cabbage, kale and spinach. Alternatively my husband loves them & thinks no Christmas dinner is complete without them. What do you think?
They are good yes. You could fry them off in a little sugar or sweetener to caramelise them once they are boiled. Or try them raw. Amazing.
Oh yes Brussels are a necessity when it comes to Xmas. Although 2 put of 4 of us eat them in the house so there are plenty
Me exactly the same ... unfortunately!!!!! I have tried them shredded raw and seem to have less problems but ...... !!!!!
I do not like brussel sprouts at all. Usually my table manners are impeccable and I’ll eat cooked onions even though I hate them. The first time I had brussel sprouts, I actually spat them back out.
No brussel sprouts in this house my Nana used to always put one on our plate every xmas and i think that put me off more i don’t buy them at all
Absolutely love brussel sprouts its not a roast without them. Sometimes I just do myself a bowl of veg which always includes sprouts and pour over some instant gravy and thats a meal for me especially when I'm dieting.
I enjoy them and have them all year round. I like the bitter taste. It’s usually that taste that puts other people off
Don't like them , but they are a traditional part of Xmas dinner so have them every year . They do however improve the taste and texture of the Boxing Day fry up of all the Xmas dinner leftovers .
I agree with your husband. I didn't like them until one yera my husband part boiled cut in half and tossed in bacon
Brussels sprouts are for life not just for Christmas Day. They can be enjoyed all year round
I love sprouts especially with mint sauce. I agree with your husband it’s traditional to serve at Christmas Day lunch. My husband dislikes them cooked but eats one or two raw.
I love sprouts and it wouldn't be a Christmas dinner without them. Par boil or steam them, split them in half and fry them in a smidge of butter with garlic and sliced mushrooms.
Each to their own. I was once told that brussel sprouts need a frost on them before they are harvested. This apparently releases sugars in the plant and thus they taste better.
We love sprouts and have even been known to add them to a curry on occasion! We are having some today that I grew in the garden, it wasn't a great success but we have topped them up with some bought from the shop.
I love ‘em... raw or cooked done anyway you like. Weather always turns windy the next day though. Can’t think why.
I hate brussels sprouts, they taste foul. I do like the walkers flavoured brussels sprouts crisps though
Love them, hated as kid, but then didn't like lots of savory stuff, they have a great flavour and unique
They make a wonderful beer when fermented , the only down side is double the flatulance .....
