I must say it is not the most handsome of faces i have seen on a stuffed animal , but it certainly ''outfoxed '' the auction
The so called bug eyed ''foxhead'' was bought at a car boot sale for £50 , the person thinking it was some kind of foxes head
It turned out it was the head of a rare Tasmanian Tiger and it netted £60,000 at auction , the owner receiving £50,000 after fees
The last Tasmanian Tiger had died at a zoo in 1936 in Tasmania , they were extinct on the mainland about 2,000 years ago due to hunters
I don't think the name tiger would have scared anyone away, maybe the face though

Wow that’s a rare find, but at a car boot, I’m unlikely to spend £50 on anything, as I usually rummage & buy random things for £1-£2 (nothing of real value, but things I like that I know is a fair price for). I enjoy being able to browse, as I don’t ever really need anything & definitely don’t need anymore junk to add to my collection at home lol
Wow, it was certainly a bargain. I wonder how often these things happen, dispose of something and someone else finds out it's really valuable.

Lynibis It's happened with me a few times L, an innocent word taken out of context by the system
One i keep falling foul to for example is 'sn@tched' , as in sn@tched away , how that can be classed as offensive and banned is beyond me , it takes me ages to find these so called offending words to remove them so a post will go through
I would have 100 per cent bought that! It looks hilarious! Bad taxidermy. Why couldn't I have found that? 
I thought it didn't look like a fox when I saw the picture, I thought it looked more like some kind of small bear. I have read into the Tasmanian tiger a few times and it's a great shame they were hunted to extinction. There is some people who believe they still survive somewhere on the Island of Tasmania but I don't think it's a very big land mass so surely they would have been found by now.
There is actually a film about a hunter going to try to capture a Tasmanian tiger that stars William Dafoe, it was based on a book.

I saw this on the news and had to admit that it was the type of ridiculous thing that I would buy, something with a face that only a mother or idiot would love.
I doubt that I would have paid £50 for it at a Boot Sale though. Maybe a tenner?
I was at a Bootsale once and it started to rain heavily so I bought four random items for a pound one of which was a double bass string.It sold on E bay for 150 and the buyer asked if I had more! Seems the company had long since gone out of business because these strings lasted for ages!
MelissaLee1 Wow , that's a string to your bow M, or guitar in this case , to sell at such a good profit 
Came at a good time as well telmel .I also bought a book for a pound at a church sale which sold for 60 as well.
