Bugsy Malone

Bugsy Malone - Fabulous film, but could there ever be a remake now?

What other films do you feel have survived the test of time?

Me and my children LOVE LOVE this film...no adults in this film...

Another film of the same calibre is Little Rascals

Both 5 stars

There are no adults unless you count the singers of course. Not seen, but definitely heard.

Love it too. Though I think it's a bit like Marmite. I doubt it will be remade though - it only did well over here and completely bombed in America.

They have be remaking everything else, so it's not inconceivable that a Bugsy Malone style film could be made. Although, I doubt if a prohibition era story would resonate with most teenagers, so would likely have a more contemporary setting.

This films is super awesome. I don't think you will every get a cast of kids doing it so well. their movements and their actions are just SO perfect - it's a one off, you can't beat it.

I saw Bugsy Malone and enjoyed it in the past. I'd sort of forgotten about it. They wouldn't remake it as it barely made its money back. One of those films that people enjoyed if you could get them into the cinema to watch it but not enough people actually wanted to see it in the first place. Commercially its better to make a film that people want to see even if when they actually sit in the cinema they wish they hadn't bothered. Nowadays it seems like as long as you can make a great trailer out of the film footage you'll make a profit.
