Bulk Buying - Does Noone Think Of Others?

Does anyone not think of those who can only afford a week to week shop? There are people bulk buying and selling on ebay and amazon for ridiculous prices. Not everyone can afford to bulk buy and if you can afford to at least give a little to your neighbours or friends/family. Or maybe donate to a charity or a food bank.

I think people that want to exploit a bad situation like this have no care for their fellow mankind. Disgusting behaviour. I try not to automatically get enraged by bulk buyers as I have a friend who has a husband and 4 children, her shopping is normally huge and at the moment they have elderly parents they are shopping for too and are getting really embarrassed by some of the looks and tuts they are getting.
Shelves were empty in most of the shops in the town yesterday.
Aldi, Lidl, Iceland and Home Bargains got decimated.
Not a toilet roll available again in Home Bargains this morning.
At least the main supermarkets are stopping bulk buying of essentials, but then you get both a husband and wife having a trolley each to get around the restrictions.
I went to Tesco this morning. My husband had run out of deodorant and I needed more cheese snacks for my son. It was pandemonium! No toilet roll, no pasta, no rice, only a few baby wipes left, even fresh food was low. Bread has been limited to 2 loaves a person.There was people looking in my trolley to see what I had! Because I had my son I needed a trolley with a child seat and they are all big trolleys and I got some dirty looks even though I only had a few items!
The bakery section of our local Co-Op was stripped off any products. Complete embarrassment for those peeps who have been bulk buying without a care for anyone else. Selfish, unnecessary and words fail me right now. No need to do this.
Iv not been able to order my usual online delivery as Tesco are fully booked for the entire week, so I'm going to have to go to store this afternoon. Not looking forward to it!

I placed an order on Sunday and the first available delivery date is this Friday.
Whether half the stuff will come, I don't know.
TheChimp Same for my online supermarket. My partner only managed to get his regular shopping slot as he pre-books the time every week as soon as the order goes in.
At Ocado, customers are being limited to what they can buy and I think this is the way forward. Everything we buy has been available as we buy fresh veggies and fish only. Nothing packaged. I also make dishes and freeze them so we always have a steady flow of fresh food. Works for us.
TheChimp Yep I couldnt get a delivery until Sunday either & Friday for C&C. Iv been to a few shops today to do our weekly shop. (Just a week worth, no bulk buying). Wasnt bothered by the lack of pasta etc but I couldnt get fresh chicken anywhere. We pretty much just eat chicken & veg) I tried Tesco, Morrisons Asda & Iceland, All were out of fresh & frozen chicken. Thankfully my father in law rang earlier & he managed to get us some from Aldi. It's crazy!
The supermarkets and government should be reacting quicker to the issue of bulking buying and limiting products to customers, Appealing to humans compassionate side and not bulk buy is not going to work. I went yesterday to buy some stuff that i actually need for work and it was ridiculous, all of the normal products i buy were gone and had to resort to more expensive products.
I think lack of information particularly from the government has sent people into a panic. People are concerned about a lock down being imposed and nobody has been advised of the procedures or plans if this happens or indeed for how long it's likely to be , so people are panicking and stock piling just in case. Will shops still open, will home deliveries continue, would it be total lock down or would we be allowed to go to the shops, will suppliers still be actively working and delivering , how long is a lock down expected to last, all points that the government should be addressing in my opinion and reassuring us about at the moment.
I agree that part of the problem is lack of continuous info - humans need reassurance and guidance. When there is no steady information being rolled out then people will, sadly, continue to overstock. My basket was comical in comparison to the trolley warriors this morning.
