Where Do You Buy Yours?

Thanks very much for that elise I have heard of Music Magpie but thought that they only had second hand DVD's. As for Zavvi, the name rings a bell so I will give them a look. I appreciate your reply.

Thanks very much for the information. What I want to buy are older DVD's (eg. old poirot's with Peter Ustinov) which I don't think Tesco or other supermarkets will have. I think Zavvi is going to be the place - I hadn't realised that they were previously Virgin megastores!

Ohh I see, I've just had a quick google and the ones on eBay are crazy prices.

I can actually remember when virgin megastores changed over to zavvi, it's been well over 10 years.. damn, I feel old haha.

LittleLisaMarie Yes, the prices on there are scary, but I will get it somewhere, sooner rather than later hopefully. Zoom is actually cheaper than Zavvi at the mment but I shall keep my eyes open and see if anywhere comes up with a real bargain. I must be far older than you but I don't remember the virgin/zavvi changeover. Stay young.

Thanks for your interesting answer. I once approached a film company as I couldn't get a particular DVD of a film I had previously seen on TV. It took a lot to find who to contact and they deigned not to respond although everyone else along the way had been so helpful, so I was really disappointed.

How do you know which are the copies & fakes. What is it that tells them apart from the genuine article?

tumblespots I always read the sellers feedback and usually if the price is far too cheap then it’s probably a fake ! But that’s just my rule of thumb. I wouldn't know where to start trying to actually work out the fakes from the genuine. Some copies are so good it would take an expert to tell.
