Buying a House

Buying a house in a remote area or in a village (if possible) tends to be a good idea as it's safer and you're not near to too crowded areas. I frankly would prefer to be around animals in a farm than humans in a city I don't know from anywhere.

Everyone wants to live in London (even moreso than Manchester, Luton or Birmingham), but it's overpopulated and there's so much more to U.K. You know, it's a good thing anyone can't just come in to U.K. anymore like they could during the EU era so now there's actual control.

It depends on age and family members. I would feel children need some outside space to play in, especially if you are not near a park and whether you would have the time to take them there regularly.

For myself, gardening is now becoming an unpleasant chore so this year I am having paving laid and just leaving the back border with bushes remaining, supplemented with large colourful pots. If I were a young mum again, yes I would feel a garden to be a necessity when possible.

We wanted a garden as we planned to get a dog and to have children. Our garden is not massive, but it is big enough for our dog to run around in and we have a few parks near us too, so perfect for our son. If it was a family home, then yes it would put us off if it didn't have any type of garden.

see i love having a garden but i also have 5 kids. i think when buying a property you have a chance to be fussy because your basically signing over the fact you'll be there long term. so i don't think id sacrifice anything

We spend a lot of time in the garden in the summer and it's handy to have in winter too as we have a dog and she can go out for a run around in the dark evenings. Definitely wouldn't be without it.

I would rather have a garden, especially with little ones. I love having the freedom of just sitting outside with a nice drink, friends and family on a gorgeous day/evening

It depends on what your looking for. I have a young child and 3 dogs so my garden is used daily and i couldnt be without it. People without animals or children may not be bothered by it.

Yes it's a dealbreaker, and would definitely put me off. If you are buying a family home it needs a garden or communal yard for the kids, pets, gardening, drying laundry, eating alfresco and just to sit in. You may not consider these things important now, but when you try to sell your 'family' home again, if you have no outside space - you will have dramatically reduced your pool of potential buyers .
