Bye Bye to Bonmarche?
In the News
it’s not looking good for the retailer, but not surprised as I have never shopped there
I used to have a look in there when I was a student as it was relatively cheap but haven't been to one in years. Don't even look at the website as it's not the first place I think of for clothes or shoes.
That one went bankrupt too, huh. The name made me think it was a store owner by the French retail company known as Les Mousquetaires and Intermarché but it's not.
I have been there a few times and got a trousers for a great price when it was on offer. Otherwise I think that their stuff are just too expensive!
I never bought anything from there but wanted to like it. It just wasn't good value for money, I'd rather spend a little bit more and go to Next.
The store is aimed at over fifties but the age who shop in there is more over 70. I know this as my mum regularly shops here and everytime I walk past the store I look to see if she is in there and all I see is a mass of heads with short grey hair all looking like my mum. My mum is actually a young 80 year old and shops for her age group are few and far between. She would never order clothes online so it would be a shame to see it go. Hopefully a buyer is found to save it, we do not want to lose more stores from the high street.
I hope so too as I hate seeing shops unoccupied. Every day it seems like a shop has had to shut down as they’re struggling
