Cadbury Rebrand/new Logo

Ask a Question

https://www.creativereview.co.uk/cadbury-rebrand/

Created by design agency Bulletproof, the refreshed Cadbury wordmark is a contemporary take on the signature of the company’s founder, John Cadbury.

Personally, I don’t know why they’ve bothered. These kind of rebrands will cost millions to overhaul. But I guess they’ve got the money to do it

Do you like the new logo?

I quiet like it. It's a modern new look whilst retaining many of the classic elements of the older designs. You are right about the cost of these things though - I bet they cost a fortune.

Yes not only is it expensive to design and market, but then all their packaging will change - so much money used for a subtle change that may or may not affect sales

It's subtle and tasteful. When branding is not recognised as a valuable asset by the consumer, it's working in my opinion. You may think they've spent that money unnecessarily but it's only like advertising and even more important. When you walk past those newly branded packets in a shop, you may not buy one straight away but your eyes will take in that branding whether you like it or not and potentially fool your mind into thinking all their products are a new experience.

As long as the chocolate doesn't change its taste it doesn't really bother me

Lol the only thing they might do is shrink the sizes, so make the bars and quantities smaller. That always annoys me

I'm not sure about this one - perhaps they needed to create some new customer-interest although I'm not keen on the caps font. They couldn't change the colour as it is now a recognised shade - Cadbury purple. They also hinted that they would have to reduce the size of their bars after Brexit.........will be interesting to see if their profits go up or down.

Hardly any difference really. Slimmer which I guess is a bit not modern. Almost identical font though, which is a good thing as it's an established brand and the logo is very recognisable.

Cadburys stink after Mondelez took over.

And for that reason........

I don't like it. It starts out ok and then gets a bit to fancy, and Cadburys is not a fancy brand. Just stick to cheap and cheerful

I stopped buying CDM when they changed the shape of the actual chocolate. I liked the squares! And am convinced it doesn't taste the same. We have crappy smooth lumps now... 🐞

I like it but I also liked the old design too and to be honest it wouldn’t affect my decision to buy their chocolate or not I love Cadbury’s chocolate.
